In fact Churchill and Roosevelt conspired against both Germany and Japan long before Pearl Harbor. It is you who should try 'a little reading'. Yep and it worked spectacularly. Roosevelt knew war was coming. He conspired with an ally against his enemy. It kept the UK fighting. Roosevelt seized the initiative from the enemy and forced his decision cycle. Support for England allowed the US when we entered the war to strike at times and places of our choosing instead of having to rush to battle to save our ally. You say all this like it's a bad thing.

Wait, the US was out on setting up a little empire for itself, just like the USSR.
