Heiwa actually has a sense of humor, and keeps spittle spewing to a minimum. It doesn't make him right, but at least it doesn't make him too much of an...well, you know the word.

Here's my favourite conspiracy theory:

Actually I've just made it up; and since it was me who made it up, that's why it's my favourite.

Osama Bin Laden couldn't possibly have done 9/11, because given that the Bin Ladens are firm friends of the Bushes and were in America at the time, that proves Osama Bin Laden was having breakfast with Bush on the morning of 9/11, which proves he couldn't possibly have masterminded the operation.

Bush could've though. Perhaps he has a special cornflake code. His White House aides perhaps look at him eating, and if he tips some cornflakes off his spoon three consecutive times before taking mouthfuls, it means attack America this morning. If he stops eating before his bowl's empty, maybe it means, "No, no, stop the attacks; I've changed my mind." Maybe on the morning of September 11, Bush gave the code for attack, and then the code for stop attacking;
but it was too late; his aides had rushed off to do his bidding and could no longer be contacted. So he tearfully confided in Osama Bin Laden, who kindly agreed to take responsibility for the attacks for Bush, so Bush wouldn't look bad.

Surely that's got to be one of the best.

Let's see... a call out thread based on what is probably a "work" that makes light of a fact that anyone should be concerned about.

It was George Sr. who was meeting with the Carlyle Group, including Bin Laden's brother, on the morning of 9/11.

That, of course, is what is referred to around here as a "coincidence".

Despite all the conspiracy theories I've just boldly made up, I feel compelled to admit that I am in fact fairly ignorant of Bush's dealings with the Bin Ladens and what the government officials were doing with them, except that I once watched a television programme that theorised that Osama Bin Laden is to this very day hiding out in Bush's house. (Well, it was a comedy programme). They went to his house to have a look, but security refused to let them in, which is of course absolute proof that Bin Laden was there.

Um ... oh yes. Notwithstanding my long-winded and totally irrelevant preamble, the point of my post is actually to ask ...

Who are the Carlyle Group?

No one answered that question; but with the intense and extensive scrutiny I generally subject the things I'm interested in to, I discovered the answer myself. Or should I say, deduced it. A very interesting finding it was too!

A couple of hundred years ago, the famous ... whoever he was, Thomas Carlyle, said:

A person usually has two reasons for doing something: a good reason and the real reason.

That was the only clue I needed!

From that, I deduce that the Carlyle Group is a group of spin doctors, probably hired out by people like the American government, to invent "good reasons" for the things they do for them, when they don't want the public to know the real reasons they're doing them.

This makes absolute perfect sense in the context of my cornflake conspiracy theory, and thus it just must be true!

What quite obviously happened was that the Carlyle Group were called in on the very day of 9/11, to invent a "good reason" why the attacks happened. I mean, Bush couldn't possibly have gone to the American public and said,

America attacked itself today. And I'm sorry; it was all my fault. I meant my government to make America attack itself on a different day altogether, but due to a mix-up with a code and some cornflakes, I accidentally gave the order today. I wanted my government to attack America because we want to launch an entirely unprovoked war in the Middle East to create American jobs in the construction industries over there rebuilding what we destroy, and so we can take control of their oil companies. We had to attack America and then blame it on the Middle Easterners to ensure your support for our wars, because they wouldn't have got mass support otherwise.

Bush couldn't possibly have said that. So it's obvious to me now that he called in the Carlyle-loving Carlyle Group, to manufacture a good reason for his behaviour.

Never trust poets. Or whatever Thomas Carlyle was. In fact, perhaps they should even be treated as war criminals.

What? No more than usual. But what possible other recourse was left available to me than to make multiple responses, after my precious ingenious theory, invaluable to the understanding of the modern world, risked being shattered to smitherines by such unfair scrutiny?! It was imperative that I go to the utmost lengths to defend it with all the best resources at my disposal, to the bitter end!

it was a comment in jest (I thought the winking eye might have indicated that). Feel free to post as often as you like.

What? And my response wasn't in gest? Shocking! So my theory's fact after all? So I really do need to defend it? Should we contact a news agency and inform them of my factual theory so they can broadcast the scandal far and wide and call for an investigation into the cornflake code? :D

Oh my gosh!! I've just discovered the media already know about the cornflake code! In fact, a book's even been written about it!

This is terrible! So a book's been written about what George Bush did on 9/11, and still no new investigation!

Look at This!!!

******** Sophie's Secret. Zonderkidz, 2004. 0-310-70757-9

********************* Now that Sophie has her camera, her Cornflakes (best friends), and her own special way of spending time with God, she's set, right?
But when a new project of searching into the past unearths questions about Sophie and her past, everything starts to fall apart again. Can the one person in the world Sophie thinks she can't count on help her believe in herself?

******** Sophie and the Scoundrels. Zonderkidz, 2005. 0-310-70758-7

*********************** It seems like Sophie and the Cornflakes have big problems when the class troublemakers (or Fruitloops) start targeting them with their pranks. But even when real disaster seems to strike, can it be any worse than the trouble starting between the friends themselves? If Sophie can't find enough to give from within herself, she may lose the Cornflakes forever.

How shocking and appropriate! Cornflakes, and an investigation into the past that'll only bring trouble, and disaster! This is cclear proof that George Bush's cornflake code exists, and that America did indeed attack itself on 9/11! So why isn't anyone doing anything?! Why is that author just sitting there writing books in cornflake code about it?!

sorry I am in between hockey games with my kids, so I may have not read it right.

Wow, I thought someone must have eaten my thread! It suddenly disappeared! But then I discovered it had been merged with this one, so it turns out no one's eaten it after all. They've just made it fall to bits. One bit's here. Previous bits are on previous pages, mixed up with other stuff because the posts are all in chronological order according to date. So my thread's fallen apart like a soggy cornflake!

Anyway, that author I mentioned has written more books about the cornflake code.

*** *********** Sophie Breaks the Code. Zonderkidz, 2005. 0-310-71022-7

*********************** Sticking to the Corn Flakes Code only gets harder in Middle School, but Sophie's always been the "good" one, the one who keeps all the other Flakes from going astray. She has to work even harder to protect her Flakes now, and she rises to the occasion--all by herself. But who will help Sophie when she's in trouble? When the Flakes have abandoned her, can she remember to turn to God?

Obviously this book's a coded way of talking about America's role as world policeman, and George Bush's mistakes when he messed up the cornflake code; and it advises that he turn to God for solace. We can clearly see that he in fact did so. Didn't he claim God told him to strike Iraq? So he obviously reads these books.

And then there's another one!

************ Sophie's First Dance? Zonderkidz, 2005. 0-310-70760-9

********************** As sixth grade draws to a close, the school plans an end-of-the-year dance. Feeling very grown-up, the Cornflakes start talking about their dresses and their hairstyles, and of course they'll all go together...unless the class boys start asking them to go with THEM. When one of the girls is left out, there's more than just hurt feelings at stake. Fixing this is going to take a lot more than Sophie's usual cleverness--it's going to have
to start with God.

This is quite obviously a coded book about the War on Terror, and how the allies need to stick together, and how George Bush is right when he says people are either for him and the war on terror or they're a potential evil-sympathiser.

better off in this thread, as at least it remains in the 9/11 CT subforum, and not AAH or elsewhere.

Wow, it seems like there was an avalanche of stupidity here while I was on "vacation."

question,

Are they merely lending themselves to the greater cause of the union? (which is ok in my book), or are they using this rally to promote their bullcrap lies, and make a lot of other protesters there very unhappy with them?

TAM:)

I like that their "massive rally" has 0 yes, 1 maybe and 1 no so far. But it's early yet, I suppose.
