that's right. I consider this to be the 2nd successful attack during the Obama administration.

why 2nd? first there was the Underwear bomber..who got on the plane and was able to try to ignite his bomb. our intelligence services failed to prevent him from being in the country and getting on that plane. so as far as I am concerned, he succeeded.

second, is the Times Square bomber. once again, he was able to be in the country, by a car, put together a crude bomb, and try to blow it up.

we did not stop him at all. both times, in fact, only luck saved us..not the hard work of anyone.

are we gonna be soo lucky a 3rd time????

will the third attempt fizzle away like the first two? I doubt it. after these two events, if there is a third event that DOES kill or injure people, Obama will be blamed.

I consider terrorism to be something like natural disasters. We can prepare, but total safety will never be possible. Sadly, we are going to have to live with a base level of risk in our lives.

Keep in mind that there were over 400 successful terrorist attacks during the W administration.

Not on American soil.

Besides, it wasn't terrorism. It was brave minuteman-like insurgents fighting the evil occupying USA. Haven't you listened to Michael Moore?

You left out the Fort Hood attack.

EDIT: Willhaven beat me to it.

I think there are merits on both definitions. Getting to place a bomb could be termed as a success in foiling countermeasures, even if the bomb fails to explode or fails to do damage.

OTOH, single lunatics, or very small, largely independent groups, can NEVER be entirely kept from producing, planting, and possible set off primitive bombs. Or at least, the control measures required for that would not allow for a form of society any one of us would want to live in.

However, international terror organizations have so far been successfully hindered in launching large, well organized attacks, like the one on 911.

I say we blame every murder in Detroit on Obama too.

Made you laugh?? What part was so funny to you?
Well, the Times Sq incident wasn't much fun, but what IS rather hilarious is that the people who will blame the POTUS for every terrorist attack during his administration would be the very same to scream hell the loudest, should any president actually try to implement a control level that stood a chance to stop such attacks.
