25 reasons Why Ron Paul can win in 2012 (Summary)

A correction from one of my previous psots

So 18 people said no preference and at least three candidates received votes, that means the best possible results for R. Paul would be: Palin 7, Paul 6, and Ryan 5,

Those numbers should read Palin 9, Ron Paul 8, and Ryan 1.

. In the best case scenario, R. Paul is losing to "undecided" by a three to one ratio.,

That ratio should be R. Paul is losing to "undecided" by a nine to four ratio.

In any case, claiming that 8/36ths of a group is behind a candidate does not translate to the assertion that this group supports the candidate.

Ron Paul wins in 2012: he immediately neuters the US military/diplomacy machine which plunges the Middle East and the Korean Peninsula into war. He then enacts his insane economic policies which causes the implosion of modern American society which tears itself apart as the country descends into a civil war ending up with micro-city states and regional fiefdoms. Fans of Mad Max movies cheer and feel right at home.

Gosh, where do I sign up?

You have seen the future, and it's called Libertopia. Best get busy building your "privacy" fence.

You left out Blade Runner... Do we get to be Blade Runner? Heh. not much of a Scifi fan but I just think shooting Sting would be kinda... Well... Awesome... I mean you get to shoot Sting!!!!

(What do you mean "Sting wasn't in Blade Runner!??!?!)

Well, as dystopian as Blade Runner seemed it did seem to present a future with some semblance of a working economy which is more than we would have after Paulnomics get implemented.

Also stocking up on food. I don't want to end up like the Paul Cult dying of starvation amongst mountains of precious, precious pretty GOLD!

INRM said:
If Ron Paul got close to winning he would be assassinated. Too many very powerful people would be hurt by him

Now, I am curious. Can you provide a short list of people or institutions that would try murder a presidential candidate? Also, do you think these assassins could overcome the SS security provided to candidates?

Follow the investment advice of Brains Gremlin in Gremlins Two:
"I am advising all my clients to invest in Canned Foods and Shotguns".
A lot of the Ron Paul cult is not based on his ideas, but on his personality. It is amazing how many of the Paultards I have encountered when you get down to specfic issues, don't agree with Paul but still support him because they see him as some kind of a messiah figure.

Holy cow! I love Brain Gremlin (voiced by Tony Randall).

Grandpa Fred: [interviewing Brain Gremlin] Creature what is it that you want?

Brain Gremlin: Fred, what we want is, I think, what everyone wants, and what you and your viewers have: civilization.

Grandpa Fred: Yes, but what sort of civilization are you speaking of?

Brain Gremlin: The niceties, Fred. The fine points: diplomacy, compassion, standards, manners, tradition... that's what we're reaching toward. Oh, we may stumble along the way, but civilization, yes. The Geneva Convention, chamber music, Susan Sontag. Everything your society has worked so hard to accomplish over the centuries, that's what we aspire to; we want to be civilized.

6) Every four years, we get an age shift in voters. New young voters tend to back Ron Paul, while old voters who have died since 2008 do not support Ron Paul.

This is true. People who have died almost universally refuse to vote for Ron Paul.

That is assuming that Ron Paul won't die of old age between now and 2012

Ladewig,

Lots of people, for example

- The Federal Reserve: Ron Paul would want to dissolve them
- The IRS: Ron Paul has expressed a desire to dissolve income taxes which is how they make a note-worthy amount of their money
- Department of Homeland Security: Ron Paul expressed an interest in dissolving them, they have a lot of power

Among many others

If Ron Paul runs in 2012, does that mean I can look forward to him resurrecting the "North American Union" and "NAFTA superhighway" conspiracy theories?

You may not have noticed but the president can't do those things all by himself. (See Obama and Healthcare).

So even in the bizarro world where Ron Paul was elected president, he'd still have to get congress to go along with his plan to destroy the American economy.

Anyway, you can relax, Ron Paul is in no danger of being assassinated because he was elected president. I will guarantee that. Again, I'm willing to put money on it.

BTW: If Ron Paul dissolves income taxes, how will he defend the country, since the Armed Forces would have to be disbanded because we couldn't pay for them? (They do a good job, but they ain't cheap.)

If I may ask for a clarification, when you says Department of Homeland Security do you mean someone like an airport screener who is afraid of losing his $13/hour job or are you talking about Department Secretary Janet Napolitano who is afraid of losing a cabinet level position (even though each new president chooses his own cabinet) or are you talking about some shadow government employees who use the DHS as a cover for their behind-the-scenes activities (after all, FEMA is under the DHS)?

. . . . . . .
ETA: I just realized that the U.S. Secret Service is under the jurisdiction of the DHS. Do you think they might let an assassination occur?

I support this particular agenda item. The DHS is a steaming pile pinched out from between Joe Lieberman's megalomaniac buns. They took bits and pieces of the federal government from other Departments, and threw them together in a fruit basket upset that created an unecessary, huge, inefficient, extremely costly bureaucracy.

So..... I'm gonna vote for Ron Paul! If he runs, which he won't. But if he does...

No.

Some vote in the CPAC straw polls.

Some say they will vote for Rand Paul in Kentucky in phone polls.

Some in Texas just voted for Ron Paul in the House republican primary.

Some will vote for Ron Paul in the SRLC straw poll which Paul is going to win, and kick the crap out of Palin who had eyes on it. Paul is also going to kick the crap out of Huckabee who has eyes on the prize as well.

Where there's one or two, there's always a nest.

;)

'Some' is the operative word.

On what planet did these events take place? Here on Earth, the USA invaded Canada (part of the British Empire), tried to annex it, and failed completely. You weren't invaded, you didn't win, and even calling it a draw is a bit of an empty boast.

Sore Loserman.
