So is that it for Woke Kindergarten? I'm surprised the school folded so quickly. Maybe the parents found out.

I'm sure glad my kid didn't get woked through his schooling. Sure, there was the bog-standard authoritarianism in elementary school but in middle school, had to actively involve themselves in social justice issues and join the social justice club. In high school, which he's in right now, there's very little of the SJW stuff with kids even joking about it. Hey...I only got a 91% on my test, I should have got 100% because I'm Mexican. That sort of stuff.

Any content regarding sex was always optional with the school stating they were aware that some conservative parents (Christians, Muslims) found these topics best dealt with at home and there was always an opt-out so your kid could go do something else.

No dress code either except "Wearing clothing and using language that is appropriate to a learning environment." Great trades program too. Kids going to graduate and go straight into the working portion of an electrical apprenticeship.

Woke Kindergarten is a real program that costs 250K to teach teachers to teach kids, based on the name I assume 5 year olds, that the United States has not right to exist and the police should be abolished. I think there are some legit criticism of that.

A. proponent, The united states doesn't have a right to exist and is fundamentally white supremacist country, Capitalism is founded on slavery, the US revolution was fought to defend slavery.

B. Opponent, Home, noe of that is really true, sure there is still racism in the US but otherwise none of that is real.

A. All that woke means is recognizing the fake that minorities still suffer disicrimation and struggle more than white people

Rich college students then took it up and expanded its meaning to mean more or less what Woke Kindergarten means. Aware of racial injustice and subsribing to a whole slew of much more controversial opinions and polices.

You want me to produce documentation? A peer-reviewed journal article perhaps? No, I can't do that.

But my experience on this forum alone, from the word being completely unknown and unused, to the occasional use in its original meaning, then the sudden overwhelming adoption by some as a term of ridicule and insult is evidential in itself, though anecdotal.

Of course, otherwise reputable scholars such as McWhorter taking it seriously have not helped matters.
