So glad to have been wrong (I voted Dems take House, Reps keep Senate). But the best things I've been seeing are actually on the State level rather then the Federal level. For instance in Texas, all the major State level offices, and the Texas House flipping is a much bigger deal than Talarico winning in my opinion.

I live in Western NY, which is pretty solidly Republican. They won all the local state positions.

Drumpf just accepting the result (at least so far) was unexpected and very out of character for him. Then again, maybe he did during the midterms the last time he was President, too.

I voted the same way (Dems take house, Reps keep senate).

I did make my choice early in the election cycle (before the Iran war, and before some of the rather... interesting... primary races were over.) Still, I would still have been hesitant to think the Dems could take the senate even up to the election day, because we have seen poll problems before.

By the way, Elonia must be feeling really good right now about the sheer fortune he spent on this election.

It was the equivalent of a millionaire donating $475 from what I read. .05% of his net worth. It’s coins in the couch money to him.

If there’s a poster child for campaign finance reform, it’s him.

One of the big things to take from this is that we'll see an end to the dog-and-pony-show Republican-led hearings in the House and Senate. Democrats are going to hold real hearings into corruption and fraud, and even if Trump refuses to be subpoenaed, they're going to rip the ◊◊◊◊ out of him and his family, and Elon Musk and other billionaires. We'll also get serious hearings on the Epstein files. The ◊◊◊◊ that's been going on will be widely exposed.

I don't understand this: they may be talking tough, but I have never seen it having any effect. The disgraced officials just go back to continue what they were doing. OK, Trump has fired some, but I don't see that he was forced to do so.

Can these hearings have real consequences for the officials?
