Merged 2024 Election Thread

GOP can beat Kamala easily. They don't need any gimmick.
She will be given kid gloves for the next 4 weeks.
If the Demoratic party wants to win this cycle (as they say it is imperative to do!) they will try to replace her. They should demand she is replaced

IMO the GOP will insist that any Democratic Party candidate isn't legitimate and will challenge the result in the courts if the Democratic candidate wins.

Yes, I’m looking forward to the GOP completely not caring about her colour. Can you promise right now that you won’t jump on the inevitable birther bandwagon with the rest of the MAGAts when that gets rolling? Or will it be a case of “hmmm… it turns out that there are serious questions about that after all….”

Harris birthers are emerging already.

IMO it's more likely that the GOP will claim that she's not a legitimate candidate because she didn't win the Democratic Party primary.

In he eventually that she wins the election they may use this to challenge the result in court and given the current makeup of SCOTUS, that legal challenge might eventually be successful.

Already seen that idea floated on Twitter

Republicans call on Biden to leave White House

Many Republicans quickly called on President Joe Biden to resign and leave the White House after his announcement on Sunday that he would withdraw from the 2024 presidential race.

Republican leaders said that Mr Biden's decision to step aside confirmed their view that he was not in cognitive shape to serve as president - an issue that has dogged the Democrat since his disastrous debate last month.

"If Joe Biden is not fit to run for president, he is not fit to serve as president," said House Speaker Mike Johnson, the most powerful Republican in congress.

"He must resign the office immediately. November 5 cannot arrive soon enough," he added, referring to Election Day.

Some are saying he should beforced from office by exercising the 25th Amendment of the US Constitution

Apparently Biden didn't write the letter, it doesn't have the presidential seal and the signature is forged.

It's all a couple attempt by Harris and her supporters in the White House for some reason.

Huge surge in donations to the Dems campaign. ActBlue's app is getting almost as much traffic as Grindr's did at the RNC.

I think that's very cute to link to trade proposals and proposed agreements that have yet to be made policy.

And ones that have been made policy. That first one, for example, is policy. More work is being done to continue to expand what it covers towards a set of goals, yes, but that doesn't change that it is in effect.

It would be a big step in the direction of honesty if you could just admit I'm correct and the fact is Biden has negotiated no new trade policies OR agreements during his time in office. None. But that's the thing about truth and facts, they are what they are and you either accept them or live the lie. Choose the truth.

Why would agreeing to falsehood be a big step towards honesty? I get that you really wish reality would conform to your preferred narratives, but that doesn't mean that it's honest to pretend that it does, especially when you've been shown that your preferred narratives are full of holes, repeatedly, and neither refute such nor change your claims to be more reflective of reality.

Akhck, I can already see what I'm in for for at least a few months, maybe a few years, depending on Harris winning: the equivalent of the only thing that would've been wrong with Bernie winning: watching people create a pseudo-possessive version of her name as if her name were "Harri" and there were more than one of her.

And he would’ve gotten away with it if it wasn’t for those meddlesome kid fascists!

Yes, Trump is a "master communicator".

So masterful! It's like reading Carl Sagan, Bertrand Russell and Frederick Douglass all rolled into one... then subjected to nearly fatal hypoxia and finally struck on the head with a crab mallet.

^^^ I don't even know what this means. ???
Birther theory for Kamala? Born where?? Sounds like some newly invented whackjob idea. Doubt it would see any traction.

Some people have short memories.

Others are willfully uninformed.

Too bad she is sort of an idiot when she speaks in person. She came from my state and I am so sorry for it. It is usually the DEI crap that allows her stupid comment to be filtered through some "expect less" filter so no one tells it like it is for fear of being 'RACIST!!'
Different people have different opinions on what constitutes idiotic speech/writing.

If she was a white man she would be much less articulate than Bush #2.
So, only ≈10x more articulate than Donald Trump.

And of course, so unlikeable.
I'll bet she even passes off her subjective opinions as though they were objective facts when she's engaging in an argument.

Btw... She is not an African American by descent, so why do people care about her color so much? She is a daughter of foreign immigrants, the black one one descended from Jamaican slave owners. None born in USA.
Last time I checked, Jamaica was still part of the Americas, and her father was a Jamaican of African ancestry. And the "descended from slave owners" should probably take into account that a helluva lot of African Americans are descended from slave owners, because slave owners had the unpleasant habit of raping their slaves.

And Donald Trump is a son of foreign immigrants. His grandfather was an immigrant from Germany who ran a lucrative brothel in Canada during the gold rush before finally settling in the U.S. I'd even be willing to bet that you are a descendant of foreign immigrants.

But hey, I'm sure your disparagement of someone with brown skin as a "foreign immigrant" while ignoring the same qualities in a foreign immigrant with white skin has no bearing on your complaints about being called a racist.

The narrative should be her capabilities and merit- but she can't sell it that way because those stories have big recent failures.
I'd be perfectly happy to make it about her merits vs. those of Donald Trump.
