The only reason why trickle down economics hasn't worked yet is because we haven't been giving the Billionaires enough money

To be clear, Critical Race Theory is a legal theory that is taught in some law schools. I certainly have nothing against it and think that it's good that it exists, but it's just not a big deal in actual practice. Actual Critical Race Theory is not and has not been taught in the normal school progression. As a side note, there's heavy overlap between those pushing CRT as a boogeyman and the rich people who are anti-public schooling. Mud Sill Theory and other theories like it that were created to justify slavery and oppression by the rich and powerful are still a thing, after all, and going after public education to cut off the chances that people even can rise out of a desired permanent underclass has long been a thing.

Anyways, Christopher Rufo decided to try to co-opt the term and turn it into a boogeyman for the right wing. He did so successfully, quite obviously, though not by honest means or means that have much to do with truth.

He openly admitted to what he was doing with the term and how it wasn't about truth or reason! That should give anyone interested in actual truth clear reason to seriously doubt all that boogeyman stuff!

Going a bit further, though -

Highlighting mine. There's plenty more of interest in that article, really, but no more really needs pointed out at this point, I think.

Samson, if you actually do value Free Speech, you should be strongly against anti-Free Speech Rufo's deceptions. If you actually hate Free Speech, though, go ahead and keep pushing what you've been pushing.
I note the average age of US senator is 65 and a congressman is 55.
Destiny and Ruffo are wet behind the ears.
I like that there is age on this forum but I don't have the discipline or time to contribute properly.
In New Zealand politicians are 45 and inexperienced.

Alright.

It's worth noting that this doesn't directly address anything in what you quoted at all, though.

I should be clear.
The interesting people are Heather Mac Donald and Ayaan Hirsi Ali and their Ilk.
I pay no attention to men any more.
The Taliban describe the filth of male hood.

Unfortunately, things aren't that clear cut. Rufo created this thoroughly dishonest rebranding attempt. It was embraced because lots of others, including women, found it useful for their purposes to go with that flow.

The rebranding was created as part of a larger dishonest anti-Free Speech effort and its usage in practice has continued to be in support of dishonest anti-Free Speech efforts.

That's not to say that everything lumped into it is unreasonable on its own, of course. Legitimate grievances are mixed in with nonsense. It's just that the legitimate grievances can't be addressed in a reasonable manner when nonsense is being lumped together with the legitimate grievances. To address the nonsense, oppressive measures are often required, which provides cover for the oppressive people to try to pretend that they're actually trying to address the legitimate grievances while doing nothing of the sort.

Scoop: 16 Nobel economists see a Trump inflation bomb

Sixteen Nobel prize-winning economists are jumping into the presidential campaign with a stark warning: Former President Trump's plans would reignite inflation and cause lasting harm to the global economy if he wins in November.

Why it matters: The Nobel laureates are lending their academic prestige to a political argument the Biden administration has been making for weeks: Inflation would be worse under Trump.

"While each of us has different views on the particulars of various economic policies, we all agree that Joe Biden's economic agenda is vastly superior to Donald Trump," the 16 economists write in a letter, first obtained by Axios.

I'm generally not impressed by these sorts of stories; anybody remember the 51 intelligence professionals who said the Hunter Biden laptop bore all the signs of classic Russian disinformation?

However in this case the experts are right. Trump's proposed tariffs would inevitably lead to higher prices for consumers. There may be some hope that this will help create American manufacturing jobs, but for everybody else it's a net loss.

Unfortunately the prospect of tariffs may also prove popular with organized labor in some of the battleground states (especially Michigan and Wisconsin).

Was it the Russians that put in "10% for the Big Guy" into Hunter's laptop? Not much achieved there. The crack pipes probably were Hunter's for real.

Trump is a moron. Trump followers are also morons. Anyone who follows Trump that isn't a moron has adopted a philosophy of willful ignorance, and thereby, is a moron by extension.

i disagree, you have some in the GOP who know fully what Trump is, but they support him anyway because they want to be reelected.

I guess this goes here. Media outlets are reporting Lauren Bobo won her Republican primary -- in a solidly Republican congressional district -- by a huge margin. KUSA, the NBC affiliate in Denver, reports:
Boebert bested her five Republican opponents despite being branded a “carpetbagger” early on in the race. The congresswoman switched from Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District, which she’d represented [since 2021], to the 4th District. The Associated Press called the District 4 race just before 7:30 p.m. Tuesday night. Boebert won the district by a 29-point margin over her closest competitor, Logan County Commissioner Jerry Sonnenberg. KUSA news link

Bobo was endorsed by donald trump AND the Colorado Republican Party. It was also reported:
Boebert’s fellow Republicans criticized her record in Congress, where she admitted to only getting one bill passed as a primary sponsor over her two terms in the U.S. House. They also discussed a widely publicized incident where she was thrown out of a performance of “Beetlejuice” in Denver.

The inmates have completely taken over the Republican asylum. :(

Jamaal Bowman is out in the NYC suburbs, putting the "squad" down one member. Cori Bush may be the next one ousted.

I think Bobo only won by 43% because there were so many challengers who divided up the votes.

But, yes, the inmates have well and truly taken over the GOP asylum.

Both sides scrambling to respond to yesterdays very ugly violence in front of a synogogu in LA.
IMHO very, very, dumb action on the part of the demonstrators. Looks as if they are indeed targeting the Jewish communitry in general.
