Thank you.
I am pleased that you essay a denouncement of my post.
In New Zealand we have a mixed DNA proletariat.
Only Maori are connected to a grievance industry. This is critical race theory. Obama /Biden are wedded to critical race theory, and their obsession is delivering the Republicans a resounding victory.

Nope. Look up your own history, FFS. The Treaty of Waitangi predates CRT by a rather a long time.

Methinks you are the one with grievances... ;)

I wonder how delighted you would be if your kin were required to embrace lies and nonsense to be considered for employment by the public service.
To stay on topic, Donald Trump is on course to repair the idiocy that has allowed the west to be captured by weird ideologies like Islamism, Genderism.
Of course he will furnish godism and antiabortionism.
Those are catastrophic for my world view.

Translation....
"Oh my...Everything that is not me frightens me....only Trumpo can save me"

By the way...that black guy who keeps following you around? That's your shadow.
I am surprised you can post that inside the agreement to be sensible on the forum.

I enjoy the debate.

No. You enjoy holding forth about your heroes and how they will save you from whatever white supremacist news source told you to be so afraid of. When confronted you fall back and mutter about the imagined heroics of your right-wing hero and fail to demonstrate that you learned anything about what was told to you.

This thread alone, you held forth that Trump would save you from CRT, but then showed you don't even know what CRT is. Right-wing media just told you to be scared of it and you get your energy hoping some hero will save you from the big bad thing you were told to be scared of.

Never once do yo admit that you had no clue as to what CRT actually is.

I live in New Zealand.
Critical race theory is rife.
Donald Trump vows to defund schools teaching critical race theory on day one, reversing the Obama/Biden doctrine.
If any of you above describe your support for critical race theory I am listening.

No. I'm sure you can pretend to listen to opposing arguments about CRT in the thread dedicated to discussing CRT. You're welcome.

You seem to be making a fundamental error in assuming that the ''vows" trump makes are reliable.

How about the nonsense of having to swear fealty and loyalty to a monarch who is not an NZ citizen and whose family doesn't even live in your country. All your public servants do that now. At least the Maori are citizens.

Meanwhile, back on the subject of the thread...

In the last week or two, the master strategists supporting Biden (who totally don't have a long track record of losing & getting practically everything backward in politics and would totally never misrepresent past events to try to disguise such a thing) have revealed a couple of their newest strokes of genius to bail their party & candidate out from the mess they totally didn't make for themselves...

According to the Washington Post, Biden supporters are planning to pull in more young voters, not by addressing any of the issues they're concerned about in any way because that stuff is for losers, but by hosting parties with free beer, pickleball, manicures, boot-shines, & birth control... and they've also finally figured out that the perfect replacement for Kamala Harris is obviously Hillary Clinton, the only other person with prior experience running against Trump. We're saved!

PS: White House & Biden campaign insiders have also started coming out with reports of the hostile & threatening environment there to anybody with any suggestions of doing anything differently from the course they're currently on, because that would hurt Biden's feelings & trigger his rage problem & get them fired. That totally doesn't sound self-destructively similar to the way Trump runs things at all; in fact, being that way is one of the key differences that make Trump worse than everybody else.

I know your anti-Biden rage posting is crucial to your persona, but can you at least try to clean up the double negatives and **** like that? I can't understand half of the stuff you're trying to say in what, I'm assuming, is supposed to be sarcasm? Stop speaking like a 1990's Valley Girl and just spit it out.

You really don't have to, you could just say "I hate Biden" and we'd all get it by now.

Biden supporters... they've also...

Was that meant to clarify something? It just made it worse for me. I'll let it go though, I believe it's more therapeutic for some to rage at this point. It's understandable, no one is pleased with the two candidates. Some are just less hot about it.

To be clear, Critical Race Theory is a legal theory that is taught in some law schools. I certainly have nothing against it and think that it's good that it exists, but it's just not a big deal in actual practice. Actual Critical Race Theory is not and has not been taught in the normal school progression. As a side note, there's heavy overlap between those pushing CRT as a boogeyman and the rich people who are anti-public schooling. Mud Sill Theory and other theories like it that were created to justify slavery and oppression by the rich and powerful are still a thing, after all, and going after public education to cut off the chances that people even can rise out of a desired permanent underclass has long been a thing.

Anyways, Christopher Rufo decided to try to co-opt the term and turn it into a boogeyman for the right wing. He did so successfully, quite obviously, though not by honest means or means that have much to do with truth.

In a series of 2021 tweets, for example, Rufo framed his writing about “critical race theory” as a form of political marketing.

“We have successfully frozen their brand — ‘critical race theory’ — into the public conversation and are steadily driving up negative perceptions. We will eventually turn it toxic, as we put all of the various cultural insanities under that brand category,” he wrote. “The goal is to have the public read something crazy in the newspaper and immediately think ‘critical race theory.’ We have decodified the term and will recodify it to annex the entire range of cultural constructions that are unpopular with Americans.”

What he’s describing isn’t a journalistic approach to “critical race theory.” It’s the mindset of a dishonest political attack dog, one that seemed to validate criticisms that he had played fast and loose with evidence. Rufo’s involvement with Trump and DeSantis further suggested he was less of a serious interlocutor than an operative.

He openly admitted to what he was doing with the term and how it wasn't about truth or reason! That should give anyone interested in actual truth clear reason to seriously doubt all that boogeyman stuff!

Going a bit further, though -

This is clear in his recent Compact magazine essay on Hungary, a country where democracy has been hollowed out and quietly replaced by a right-wing autocracy. In the essay, Rufo argues “there is a lesson here for American conservatives,” praising Hungary’s use of “muscular state policy to achieve conservative ends.”

Rufo singles out Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s treatment of media in particular: his “working with friendly oligarchs to purchase and transform media companies into conservative stalwarts; directing government advertising budgets to politically aligned outlets; consolidating a large number of print, radio, and television outlets into an independent nonprofit entity.”

This sure sounds like a government effort to seize control of what its citizens can hear. Indeed, Hungary is a country where (by one estimate) 90 percent of all media is controlled by the government and its allies. But Rufo claims “none of this is authoritarian,” in part because it’s a response to the left doing the same things first.

“Orbán and his allies operated on the principle that turnabout is fair play,” he writes.

This is less an accurate assessment of Hungarian politics than a revealing self-portrait. Rufo has serially exaggerated the phantom menace of a leftist cultural revolution because he seeks to justify its right-wing mirror: a wholesale assault on mainstream liberal institutions designed to indoctrinate the public into its preferred social vision.

Highlighting mine. There's plenty more of interest in that article, really, but no more really needs pointed out at this point, I think.

Samson, if you actually do value Free Speech, you should be strongly against anti-Free Speech Rufo's deceptions. If you actually hate Free Speech, though, go ahead and keep pushing what you've been pushing.

Could we get a citation for any of the above?

Thirty lies told by Trump at his Wisconsin Rally last Tuesday:

RealClearPolitics
1. He said there was world peace in 2020. There was very much not.

2. He said he won Wisconsin in 2020. He lost.

3. He said the Democrats rigged the 2020 election, a lie.

4. He said people around President Biden cheat on elections. No.

5. He said people's votes tend to disappear. They simply do not.

6. He said 107, 000 people attended his recent rally in New Jersey. That's at least tens of thousands too high.

7. He said he saved Kenosha, Wisconsin, in 2020 during rioting when the Democratic governor wouldn't act to intervene. In fact, that governor deployed the National Guard before Trump told him to.

8. Trump said cocaine was found at the White House about a month ago. That was actually about 11 months ago.

9. He said it was hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of cocaine. It was a little bag, maybe generously in the hundreds of dollars worth.

10. He said Biden orchestrated his New York criminal trial, zero evidence of that.

11. He said Biden was also behind all of his cases, including civil trials, baseless again.

12. He said Biden wandered off at the G7 and didn't know where he was. No, Biden was briefly chatting with a skydiver who had landed near the group.

13. He said he was indicted more than Infamous Al Capone. No. Al Capone had more indictments than him.

14. He said he was in Washington the other day for one of his trials.

15. He was actually there for meetings with congressional Republicans. He said Nancy Pelosi turned down his offer of 10,000 soldiers on January 6th. She never got such an offer and would not have had the power to reject it even if she did.

16. He said the January 6th committee deleted all records. Just did not happen.

17. He said he's the only president who didn't start a war. Jimmy Carter didn't start any wars.

18. He said he finished the war in Syria, no, and got U. S. soldiers out.

19. He actually left hundreds of troops there. He said Syria and Turkey have been fighting over their border for, quote, 2,000 years. That border, Abby, is less than a century old.

20. He said insane asylums are being emptied by foreign countries to let people come to the U.S. as migrants. His own campaign cannot substantiate this claim.

21. He also said prisoners are coming in from jails in the Congo over the border. His campaign can't substantiate that either.

22. He said President Obama cannot deport criminals to Latin American countries. Obama, in fact, could.

23. He said Venezuela's crime is down 72 percent because of emigration to the U. S. Venezuela's violent deaths are actually down 25 percent, and that's for a variety of reasons.

24. He said 17 or 18 million people have now entered illegally over the border. Experts say that's many millions too high.

25. He said Biden's plans would quadruple your taxes. Total fiction.

26. He said cancelling Keystone XL, the pipeline, costs 48,000 jobs. That is wildly inflated.

27. He said total inflation under President Biden is unimaginable, 40 or 50 percent. It's actually 19 percent.

28. He said before he took office, there was a $500 billion trade deficit with China. It has never been that high. And, in fact, the record was set under Trump in 2018.

29. He said no previous president has taken an even ten cents in tariff money from China. It is Americans who pay those tariffs. And the U.S. has actually had such tariffs on China since the 1700s.

30. He said we're in the worst crime wave in modern history. Crime has actually plummeted in 2023 and so far in 2024.

Was that meant to clarify something? It just made it worse for me... no one is pleased with the two candidates.
I wasn't trying to clarify/explain because I don't like acting as if other people really don't understand when it appears just about as likely or more so that they do and they're just acting as if they didn't (typically in order to set up a straw man). But, since you're explicitly going with the former on this one...

You took a post about the whole self-destructive mentality of the party overall and all its power brokers & mouthpieces & acolytes, and treated that post as if it were about Biden alone, and about hatred rather than irritation/frustration/anger. On top of that, you took a post that was about their campaign methods & ideas and treated it as if it were about something to hate them for, such as their personalities or policy goals.

That combination means you ended up saying I hate Biden so much that I ranted about how much I hate the fact that he's losing and the people around him are keeping him on that losing course, because I don't want him to lose because I hate him so much.
