Cont: 2024 Election Thread part 3

CNN is reporting that even some Repubicans are shocked by Trump's choices., Gartz in particular. he is hated by many Republicans.

Tulsi will last even less. SHe is totally unqualified for the job.
How is that a barrier? Trump isn't qualified for his job, either. It's considered a positive: be an outsider, with no knowledge or experience or sense. That's the way to maximize efficiency, really get the ducks in a row, and think outside the box!

Well, I'm just sure they are ready to teach Trump a lesson by not bowing as much as they usually do when they kiss his ring.

Problem is her incompetnece will show up very quickly when we have a series of intelligence failures.
She will make him look bad, and that is her death sentence.
BTW arleady getting stories that the latest series of appontemnts are shocking, behind closed doors, many Republicans. Gopers are srong on defense and they know these picks will be disasters.

I think on the Defense choices, you might see some pushback . They are just plain bad from a point of view of a strong defense/
But i guarantees that crisis after crisis is coming down the road very quickly.

They'll fold like one of Trump's cheap suits. They may mutter complaints in private, but they are ultimately his little obedient pawns.

I agree with kookbreaker. A large amount of GOP complain about Trump off the record, since before he was elected the first time, yet they all are complicit and obey.

And when disaster ensues, which it will, in the form of body bags coming home or total intelligence failures resuting in terorist attacks?
I think even some in the GOP have a tipping point particulary those in swing districts.
And Trump is a lame duck. He won't last forever.

Why would you believe that they care about deaths of their constituents? How many needless deaths were there because of Trump's covid response? They didn't care then.

Blame the Dems of course. Anything bad that happens in the next 2 years is Biden's fault. Anything bad after that is a hoax.

I doubt anyone will care who they voted in for these positions, the economy will be the only factor for certain. I'm more willing to bet GOP Senators fight for the parts of the Inflation Act that put jobs in their district than giving poo-hands FOXboy the nuclear codes.

And Trump is a lame duck. He won't last forever.
But the next election they will be telling voters about how much they licked Trump's taint.

Boy, you have pretty much given up hope.....
\Whuich works to Trump's advantage.
But this just increases my beleif that term limits are vital to our democracy. If congressmen knew they would only be there a few terms, and can't make a life long career out of being in Congress, they might be more inclined to make a hard vote and not care so much about being reelected.
Being in Congress should not be a lifelong career.
And what happens when some of Trump policies hurt the voters in their districts?
You seem not get th eidea of swing districts.

I want the GOP Senators to actually surprise me and stop one of these nominations before I believe their backroom mutterings have any merit. Otherwise its a story I've heard a thousand times: "GOP Senators/Reps mutter doubts about Trump action - let him do it anyway."

Remember Trump sent people to kill them and they refuse to stop bowing and scraping at his feet.

I don't think The Party will care about "swing districts" as they'll simply make it harder and harder for people to vote against their candidates.

Irony is Hezbollah and Hamas and Iran are overjoyed at the Gabbard appointment. US Intelligence is going to become exrremtly inept at the upper levels.

Thune elected new Senate Majority leader.
A article in the National Review headline: Congrautlation Senator Thune, you have just become the scapegoat in chief.

Didn't Hilary Clinton outright suggest that Gabbard was a russian asset during the 2016 dem primary? I wonder what led her to that conclusion.

Let's not forget this forum's former resident russophile, Childlike Empress, who read almost nothing but kremlin backed sources was a huge fan of Gabbard as well.

I'm guessing Putin is pretty happy with this appointment if he didn't suggest it himself.
