I can hardly turn on the news any more. This is just as stressful as the last two times. Maybe even more so because it's still so ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ close! How is that possible??? Can't those MAGA morons see what is right in front of their eyes? They don't even have to vote for Harris, but by gods why insist on voting for that guy? Much of the rest of us see what's coming if he gets elected. Saying "WE TOLD YOU!!!" won't matter when it's too late. I have no thoughts on if Vance has to take over for some reason. But for all that's sensible, Trump must not be elected again.
 
In a tip of the hat to the "holy ◊◊◊◊ is that hypocritical", The Turtle and Johnson release a joint statement asking Harris, yes Harris, to tone down the rhetoric. Per Politico:

“She must abandon the base and irresponsible rhetoric that endangers both American lives and institutions,” Johnson and McConnell said in their statement. “We call on the Vice President to take these threats seriously, stop escalating the threat environment, and help ensure President Trump has the necessary resources to be protected from those threats.”

Naturally Politico then points out:

Their statement does not mention Trump’s recent rhetoric, in which he’s referred to Harris as a “fascist,” “marxist,” “communist” and “comrade.” The former president has also railed against “enemies within” and called for using government resources to prosecute domestic political opponents — such as California Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff and former Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

I can't imagine being so ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ stupid as to make this statement. I know they're just appealing to their base, but still. How do they say this ◊◊◊◊ with a straight face?

GOP leaders asking Kamala and Walz to tone down the rhetoric is absurd. They only want them to stop because it is working. To call Trump a facist is an accurate statement and they know it.

How is that possible? The Firehose of Falsehoods isn't just a Russian thing. Republicans and their allies have been utilizing it to great effect for a long time. That includes various forms of falsehoods, of course, especially when it comes to the "We are the people who are on YOUR side!" theme. Economy, jobs, taxes, spending, law and order, rights, responsibility... there's lots of BS that they push to scam people into thinking that voting for them is in their self interest.

I do suffer from a form of TSDS (Trump Supporter Derangement Syndrome). Every time I read almost every post on TwiX I want to take them by the shoulders and shake them and shout "What the ◊◊◊◊ are you thinking? Don't you have a brain???" I do keep almost all politics out of my Facebook feed, and only engage snarkily on TwiX under a rarely-used name. Well, in less than two weeks ("Two weeks!") it may be over. Or not.
 
So that 'Black Insurrectionist" who claimed with no evidence that Kamala Harris was given the debate questions in advance and was promoted Trump and his followers, well, is not so black and kind of a scumbag. He owes 6.7 million in back taxes to the state of NY, has cheated business partners, and is a drug addict to boot.
