Cont: 2024 Election Thread part 3

Trump is projecting every time he calls Harris "low IQ" and "a retard", when he claims she is unhealthy, and that she has "deeply serious conditions that clearly impact her functioning."

Next thing, he'll claim she's at death's door and only sits during interviews because she's too weak to stand and gets her answers through an implanted device.

People should stop trying to kill him. He'll probably drop dead on his own soon. I hope.
That would be nice if he would just drop dead, but he appears to be one of these people who does just fine without proper diet or exercise. Still, if he looses this election, age will be enough to remove him from the scene.

That's pretty rich coming from a guy who regularly ***** his pants. Not a doctor but I'll go out on a limb and say there's something really unhealthy about being a serial pants *******.

From June 2021 to September 2022, inflation reached as high as 14 percent. But the last two years it has hovered around 3 percent and America's economy is booming leaving every wealthy nation's economy in the dust. The job market has never been better. The stock market has skyrocketed.

Well, according to this Trading Economics graph, it's hovering like a brick.

Six months from now, by my calculations, someone will have to deal with falling prices.

People have been complainging about Trump appropriating Full Metal Jacket for his campaign. Kubriks daughter says in fact Trump does agree with the message of FMJ
"However, that’s primarily what FMJ is about, the shocking and complicated paradoxes of human nature. And thus, on this tooth and claw planet, you need a very strong military - so I’m going to stick with the idea that FMJ footage was used primarily because of its powerful, realistic portrayal of boot camp, juxtaposed with the entirely demoralizing and inappropriate injection of WOKE ideology into the USA military. Which I agree with myself and which I’m certain my father would have agreed with."
I've just had a real LOL moment. FMJ was totally about anti-woke military.

It's not so much projecting, as using a technique from Russian propaganda: by staking a claim to the issue of "candidate intelligence/health", and attacking Harris, he has made any actual argument against his competence on mind/body seems reflexive instead of well-founded.
It's a very solid strategy to accuse the other side of doing what you are doing - at the very least, it creates the impression in the mind of the observers that everyone is doing it.

One could argue that Biden has failed in his management of America's economy.

From June 2021 to September 2022, inflation reached as high as 14 percent. But the last two years it has hovered around 3 percent and America's economy is booming leaving every wealthy nation's economy in the dust. The job market has never been better. The stock market has skyrocketed.

Exactly, what problem are we solving by abandoning Biden's policies?

To poke at that a bit further -

there is a big economic argument that would shut down all the MAGA idiots claiming that the economy was good under Trump so he should be elected again: it almost always takes 2-4 years for the economic policies of a new administration to start having an effect!

This is backed up by an academic paper a number of Psychologists including Bandy Lee wrote looking at violent death rates and who was president. From 1900 to 2010 they found that violent death rates went down when a Democrat was president and went up when a Republican was president, there there was a lag of about 2 years on average. So the effect didn’t kick in until about 2 years into a presidency. As a side notation they also found that various economic measures also improved under Democratic presidents and got worse under Republican presidents. Also with about a 2 years lag.

This is the paper if anyone is interested and has access to the right credentials to read it. I have heard about it from interviews with Bandy Lee
Political correlates of violent death rates in the U.S., 1900–2010

Trump revealed yet again his abysmal understanding of how the economy works when he was interviewed by Bloomberg Editor-In-Chief John Micklethwait at the Economic Club of Chicago. When he couldn't ************ Micklethwait, Trump resorted his typical toddler behavior attacking him.
Micklethwait did not take it easy on Trump, and it quickly became clear that the former president has no conception of the mechanics of or the potential ramifications of the economic platform he's running on. Bluntly, the former president was incoherent when pressed with real questions about his policies.

Micklethwait spent most of the interview attempting to break Trump out of what the former president repeatedly referred to as "the weave," his term for his rambling digressions - with ever-decreasing intelligibility - and general inability to focus on a given topic for more than a few seconds during his rallies and interviews.

Micklethwait didn't weave along with Trump, however, repeatedly working to bring him back on topic and answer the actual questions. The grilling exposed Trump's total cluelessness with regard to his own economic policy, and led Trump to attack Micklethwait as biased.
Micklethwait's attempts to keep Trump on topic earned him no grace from the former president, who hates few things more than being contradicted.

When Micklethwait asked Trump to address a report by The Wall Street Journal estimating that his economic proposals would raise the national debt by upwards of $7 trillion, the former president fell back on his standard playbook: bashing the interviewer.

"What does The Wall Street Journal know? They've been wrong about everything, and so have you by the way, you've been wrong," Trump replied, crossing his arms and curling into his seat.

"You've been wrong all your life on this stuff," he added.

The article contains several more examples of Trump resorting to his usual "weave" and failure to address the actual questions which Micklethwaite called him out on, often correcting him on his falsehoods.

But what about

That's hayfever? So utterly terrifying.

ETA: Are you basing his cholesterol levels on what he claims or have they been externally validated?

What he claims (which I think in this case is likely to be at least close to being true), as we have no independent verification.

Depressing interviews with 'independents' in Michigan with one couple saying, whilst they don't like Trump's personality they'll vote for him because 'he is better at articulating his policies than Harris' and Mayor Amer Ghalib, Detroit's first Arab Mayor endorsing Trump because 'he is a man of principles'.

What the **** are these people watching?

"Donald Trump should be granted unlimited power and shielded from the consequences of the manner in which he uses it" is both a policy that Trump has articulated perfectly clearly and a principle he undoubtedly holds very strongly.

Just checking in, does anyone here still hold a candle for Kamala and Tim?
They are being knocked into a cocked hat by the virtuoso JD Vance.
Don't panic about Trump, JD is a safe pair of hands.

No hillbilly this wily operator.

A view from down under with NO VOTE.

Indeed.
The western world is free to judge and comment.
Celebrate.
The Free speechers are keen to kick Harris and Walz deep into the weeds, just what I see going on.
If they are on the other hand the best in the west they win and rule.

Apparently Trump is planning to work at a McDonald's in Pennsylvania this weekend to prove that he has worked at McDonald's longer than Kamala.

Apparently this is 'destroying' Kamala.

Do you have some sort of warning system when you come into proximity with the truth? Does your skin break out in a rash whenever you come within a mile of it or something?

Because that's the only reason I can find for your years long unbroken streak of only posting falsehoods.
