Cont: 2024 Election Thread part 3

No. This is going to go on for four years, and beyond. There are still ripples from his last stint. And when that time comes when Trump supporters wake up to what he's doing to them, I will say in the strongest terms, "WE TOLD YOU!" Not as a gloat, but out of exasperation.
they have the house, senate, presidency, and supreme court. so, no excuses why these tariffs and mass deportations aren't making my groceries cheaper later

and for me it's going to be a gloat.

A lot of "I don;'t like Trump, but he is the lesser of two evils" voters are going to have buyer's regret bigtime.

A 17 minute interview with a retired prime minister from the free world, John Key before the election.
Some skin in the game as a director of a tech company on the West Coast.
He has always been pragmatic and calmly says Trump will be better for the economy and would vote for him.
He shows all his workings, nothing scary to see and very experienced on the world stage.
He played a lot of golf with Obama and I bet they remain friends despite this treachery.

This approach might pay dividends on this forum rather than the rank hysteria on display.

Just wondering -- the Donald Trump thread itself hasn't had much traffic in a couple days. I had some hope it would die soon but that idea is toast. (Please, we don't need a "President Donald Trump" thread too.) I am curious as to how many Continuations the thread will get in the next 4+ years. I'm sure we'll have a lot to discuss.
Need new topic. But start it in 2025: the Trump Dystopia.

This might releive some of the gloom here
:https://www.usnews.com/news/health-...on-rights-measures-pass-in-7-states-fail-in-3

It got 57% of the vote in Florida, but needed 60% to pass since it was a constituional amendment.
As much as I hate Trump, I think he will go slow on furhter action on abortion. He has been pretty consistent about not favoring a nation wide ban, and we all know he only values the Evangelicals for their votes, he does not actually buy into their crap.

If a Republican-controlled Congress passes a national ban, though, would Trump veto it?

Only to be expected. look at the source.
Kicking a peron when they are down. What Maga is all about.

Yup, but what do you expect from maga weirdo bullies who still think they're in grammar school... bwahahahaha

Yup, I can see those hypocritical, maga weirdoes secretly wrapping their lips around a "woke" bottle of Bud Light... bwahahahahaha

That is not fair. Plenty of Liberals like watching sports and drinking beer...though usually a better brand then Bud Light.

Interesting question; I think Trump, behind the scenes, would try to kill it in commitee, and there are Republicans in swing districts who are not thrilled with the idea. who combined with the Dems would make it hard to pass.

I laughed. Can I at least get an honorable mention.
Remember, this is an exhibition, not a competition, so no wagering. But perhaps some unfounded sexual innuendo, combined with overt misogyny and biracial bigotry might be a flex here.

ETA: If you actually laughed, please feel free to give a thumbs up so I know you're not being disingenuous. And if you think I'm engaging in sustained irony, do it anyway.

it's a good question. he's really not under any obligation to do anything for anyone anymore, but nobody should be under the impression an abortion ban wouldn't be a bargaining chip for him either.
