And truly if it is THAT bad, if we're so tribal that the Republicans could nominate a deep sea angler fish in a Nazi SS uniform and still carry all the states in the South and Midwest or, more likely, if so much of the country is so petulantly and childishly "Can't nobody tell me what to do" contrarian that if we give them a good option and a terrible option they'll pick the terrible option just to prove that ain't nobody tell them what to think, then we need to find a way to give the voting public "Good option and bad within normal parameters option."

Now the claim is there was collusion between the tv company and Kamala, her team wrote the questions for the debate and she memorised the answers. It was all a fix.

Also, it was a crime!

Dr. Naomi Wolf
@naomirwolf
Her performance was 100 per cent different from any appearance she has ever made. Not possible imo for a person so inept to change so much overnight. Is it a crime to use a technology to cheat on a Presidential debate? If so there should be discovery including asking Nova for their order records. Did the WH or VP Harris order these earrings/ear buds? I am serious.

We knew those CTs would come, I guess. I'm actually almost grateful they're telegraphing so clearly that they admit Harris mopped the floor with Drumpf and that it deeply bothers them.

Still less dim than her claim that apple has been developing vaccines that contain time travelling nanopatticles (yes my phone autosuggest does now put that spelling).

Time travelling nanopatticles? Are there are lot of Time Lords in Boston?

Yeah we know. "Either side could nominate a head of lettuce and get a minimum 40% of the vote." We've heard it before. Many times.

We shouldn't blaise about that. We shouldn't be okay with that. That isn't something we should just say with a shrug and "LOL watcha gonna do about it?"

I agree, it is stupid but I don't see it changing much.
And what can you do about it? ANy ideas?

Trump says you can just grab them when you're famous?

Speaking of Trump claims today he won the debate, I am reminded of the guyin your avatar...Professor Fate's line:

'Lets' See the Great Leslie Top That One!"
".

Have you tried "old man yells at cloud"?

That it gives so much ammo to the Conspiracy Loons is a reason why I am not sure the mods in these debates fact checking is such a good idea.

SO we will need Time Police just like in Poul Anderson's Time Patrol Stories?

I am reading some very serious deep anylysis of the impact that Taylor Swifts' endosrsment will have on the election.
I have nothing against Swift, and am happy she endorsed Harris, but the idea that large number of voters by be swayed by the opinion of a celebrity, whose opinion on politicks is no better then anybody's elses is not something I am confortable with, regardless of whose ox is being gored.

I think in world where we are currently fighting to keep democracy as a concept alive in America because the producers of a ****** reality show convinced a bunch of idiots that the dumbest man ever was a business genius and should be the President we can worry about this after we fix THAT problem and fight that civil war that you still think is gonna happen.

The fire isn't out. Don't worry about where the water is coming from.

That makes no sense.

The whole point of politics is getting people to vote for one candidate over another, and some people are stupid enough that they will follow what a certain celebrity says.

Just be thankful the Beyhive, the Swifties and many others well and truly outnumber the Kid Rocks and Hulk Hogans who are doing exactly the same thing for their candidate.

In the real world, Tay-Tay's endorsement is every bit as legitimate as Dick Cheney's.

Most people vote on emotion, not rationality. Gen Z is highly influenced by pop culture including the phenomena of "influencers" and no one has more influence there than Swift.

Taylor Swift Drove Nearly 338K People to Vote.gov With Kamala Harris Endorsement Post

Taylor Swift‘s endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris led to a surge of visitors to Vote.gov, the U.S. government website that helps citizens understand how they can register to vote.

According to a spokesperson for the U.S. Government Services Administration, Swift’s endorsement post on Instagram led directly to 337,826 people visiting vote.gov.

As of 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 11, there have been 337,826 visitors to vote.gov referred from the custom URL created and shared by Ms. Swift,” the spokesperson told The Hollywood Reporter.

I really don't get it. This man is ridiculously stupid. He is seriously unlikeable. I've never seen anyone more self centered. Everything is about him. And none of this is exaggeration. The least principled person I have ever seen.

And none of that matters to his supporters.

Because his role is to give them permission to be just as bad.

That's how you square the circle.

Have you tried "old man yells at cloud"?

What's that? Someone suggested the world could and should be a better place? Time for the nihilist to stick is head in for a snarky remark and then go back to ignoring everything bad because he's too cool for school.

Think about what you just said.

Read Swift's post. She didn't say "Vote for Harris", she said she's voting for Harris and urged readers to "do your research" and pay attention to politics.

She's trying to solve the problem of 45% people voting for a head of lettuce.

Or do you disagree that people (famous or otherwise) shouldn't urge others to look into politics?
