Taylor Swift has endorsed Kamala Harris.

Disastrous debate by the orange slug, my girl Tay-Tay endorsing Kamala,

It's so over they'll need a microscope to find states that vote Trump.

The Blue Tsunami continues to build, ready to sweep the MAGA filth from the face of the country.

And a note for the people quoting odds showing Harris second favourite; after the debate the odds have changed 180 degrees.

This morning: Trump $1-83, Harris $2

Right now, Harris $1-83, Trump $2.

And she will tighten up a lot from there. Easy money. A mate of mine had a grand on her this morning, before the debate. Double your money in under 2 months.

All Harris had to do was play on Donalds Thin skin. It was easy to take him off message nd derail his answers.

Vice President Kamala Harris is the best—and only—presidential candidate in this race who is fit to serve as our commander-in-chief. <Snip>

Frankly stated, Donald Trump is a danger to our national security and our democracy. His own former National Security Advisors, Defense Secretaries, and Chiefs of Staff have said so. He continually disrespects those who serve in uniform, including wounded warriors, prisoners of war, and those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. He disparaged fallen heroes as “suckers” and “losers” and insulted the heroic service of the late Senator John McCain. At his core, he does not understand selfless service and sacrifice, and he should never be allowed to again serve as commander-in-chief of the greatest fighting force in the world.

He repeatedly fails to take responsibility for his own role in putting service members in harm’s way. Without involving the Afghan government, he and his Administration negotiated a deal with the Taliban that freed 5,000 Taliban fighters and allowed them to return to the battlefield. Then, he left President Biden and Vice President Harris with no plans to execute a withdrawal, and with little time to do so. This chaotic approach severely hindered the Biden-Harris Administration’s ability to execute the most orderly withdrawal possible and put our service members and our allies at risk. Nevertheless, President Biden with the support of Vice President Harris ended America’s longest war, oversaw the largest airlift in U.S. history, and brought our troops home.

Our service members and their loved ones deserve a President with the temperament and track record to serve as commander-in-chief. One who is willing to make tough decisions, who takes accountability, and who always has our back. That leader is Kamala Harris.

Directly addressing some of Trump's claims

Allan Lichtman is a history professor at American University and has accurately predicted the results of US presidential elections since 1984, with the exception of the 2000 race which saw Al Gore win the popular vote but lose to George W Bush. Lichtman has been called the “Nostradamus” of US presidential elections. He uses a 13-point formula to pick the winner and this year he's predicting Kamala Harris will win.

He's a historian. They tell you what already happened. The big problems with doing that for presidential elections are:

1) Really small sample size

2) American politics has changed radically over the decades.

This XKCD comic should be required reading for pundits, analysts, and anyone in any political discourse that ever says "X has never happened..."

https://xkcd.com/1122/

Really once you get beyond obvious truisms like "The more popular candidate who raises more money and gets more votes will win" the sliver of actual meaningful stuff you can get out of analytics before it just turns into astrology is really thin.

Trump understands "service" only as something he gets but never has to give.

This seems to be a contradiciton in the Trump-Vance messaging.

Only childless cat ladies vote for Democrats who are also letting in hordes of cat-eating Haitians....

He's standing p for their cats!

We know it isn't the case but sadly I could see them coming up with a "we will save your cat" campaign and this is what they ended up with "immigrants are eating the childless women's cats!!"

I'm more than halfway convinced it's exactly that. They needed to counter Vance's comments about cat ladies, but he isn't capable of ordering donuts without sounding like he's only pretending to be human, so they have to counterattack with something even more ridiculous to normalize his weirdness. Ergo, Democrats eat kittens.

Just for the heck of it, I thought I'd look up his prediction in 2016.

Not exactly brimming with confidence at the time.
Check the date though, that was in september, before the Access Hollywood tape was leaked, and while the media were still in a frenzy over Clinton's health.

Which was then followed by Comey's intervention, at which point most pollsters agreed that the polls were too scattershot to predict anything reliably.

I don't care. I'm tired of seeing Lichtman on all of these shows.

Now the conspiracy theory from MAGA is that Kamala wore secret earing speakers. That's the only reason it looked like she won, but also, Trump won the debate soundly...

Trump is now saying that ABC News should have their FCC license taken away as punishment for fact checking him during the debate.
I would drink their salty tears if they weren't all so gross.

Which would have been probably unconsitutional.

The way it's written, it doesn't matter. If the electoral college doesn't come up with someone who has a majority then the election goes to the house for a state caucus vote where each state gets a single vote, and since there's a larger number of states with a majority of Republican reps that would give them the upper hand, regardless of how their state voted.

This would all be so hysterical if it weren't for the fact that nearly half the electorate is gonna vote for this lunatic...

Yeah we know. "Either side could nominate a head of lettuce and get a minimum 40% of the vote." We've heard it before. Many times.

We shouldn't blaise about that. We shouldn't be okay with that. That isn't something we should just say with a shrug and "LOL watcha gonna do about it?"
