Anyone who fails to see that Trump is mentally deranged and dangerous is either hiding his head in the sand, incredibly stupid, and/or just plain likes his disgusting behavior and rhetoric.

Biden may be showing signs of age-related memory problems, but Trump is just plain nuts and dangerous.

Every word is true.

Which is why I fail to understand this from today:

A new New York Times/Siena College poll shows Trump leading Harris 48 to 47 percent. The poll states that voters see Trump as closer to the center compared to the vice president, despite Harris’s attempts to appear as the moderate candidate. Almost half of all voters view her as too liberal or progressive, according to the poll.

If anyone sees Trump as closer to a centrist than Harris, they're as barking mad as the disgusting orange slug itself.

I question their methodology - I can't accept 48% of Americans actually think that.

Trump has largely been tacking left on abortion, especially compared to the GOP in general. The irony is pretty rich; he delivered the Supreme Court that gave the decision to overturn Roe. Still, his general support for things like the 15-week ban over the 6-weeks (or less) ban, comes off as centrist.

As for Kamala, she ran in 2020 (well in fairness, she only ran in 2019) as the candidate who thought Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders were too conservative. Granted, it was about the only lane available, but clips are out there of her positions at the time, and when you run as the real progressive in the race, you are going to be taking positions that are not going to be popular in Altoona.

I am going to support Harris, regardless.

I’d like to know how the poll defined “the centre”. Without a clear definition, any poll asking Whois “more central” is meaningless.

I'm aware, and I suspect that claims of 'low IQ' are based upon Harris' skin colour.

Sure. Racial attacks are always top of the list for their kind. The accusation is also an admission. Trump and Trump supporters are demonstrably stupid. The attack is intended to deflect from the obvious fact that Trump is a ******* idiot.

"Liberals, take note: If you support Kamala Harris, you are now on the same side as Dick Cheney."

That's sort of why while (obvs) I find Cheney voting for Harris interesting and meaningful, as a political talking point stuff like that is kinda neutral because you spin into either:

"Trump is so bad even Cheney won't vote for him"

or

"Harris is so bad she's got Cheney's vote."

In political science books there are examples of voters that end up labeled centrist. But if you give them a list of issues, they are left on some issues and right on some issues. This gives the voters some choice in countries where there are more than two parties. You can pick a candidate who focuses on the issue that is most important to you. Your voice was heard.

Up to the politicians then, in those countries, to make policy.

The entire "Left to Right Chart mapped like it's an actual thing that exists like the electromagnetic spectrum" thing is insufferable.

Politics is not a linear scale.

It's part of a concerted effort to keep old political ideas in place, and with it the people who make money espousing them..
In order to keep the political duopoly going, no concept or power group can be allowed to exist outside of the Left-Right spectrum.

Nate Silver’s Latest Forecast Has Trump Winning Every Single Swing State in Electoral College Blowout

Pollster Nate Silver predicted an Electoral College landslide for former President Donald Trump after his model’s latest forecast showed the Republican now has a 63.8 percent chance to win the majority of the Electoral College vote, while his opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, trails with just a 36 percent chance.

Silver’s model, published on his blog Silver Bulletin, marks a shift from earlier projections that favored Harris, or Trump narrowly. The pollster notes the impact of Sunday’s New York Times/Siena College poll, one of his model’s “highest rated pollsters,” that put Trump ahead of Harris – 48 percent to 47 percent – well within the survey’s 3-point error margin.

Per Silver’s model, Trump is now predicted to win 312 electoral votes compared to Harris’s 226. This dramatic upswing surpasses Trump’s previous wins, including his 304-vote victory against Hillary Clinton in 2016.

Crucially, Silver’s prediction places Trump ahead in all the swing states ahead of Tuesday’s ABC News-host presidential debate — which, the pollster caveats, could blunt the impact of the New York Times/Siena poll.

While Silver’s latest prediction paints a bleak picture for Harris, other models show a more competitive race. RealClearPolitics has Harris narrowly ahead with 273 electoral votes, while Project 538 forecasts a victory for Harris with 281 electoral votes to Trump’s 257. Still, the margin between the two candidates remains razor-thin in key states.

Whatever Putin or Trump might be paying him, he's not worth it.

How are the polls even close?

@RonFilipkowski

In the last 24 hours, Trump wished the Virgin Mary Happy Birthday, pitched Hulk Hogan’s beer, talked about Hannibal Lecter, said he will imprison people he thinks are cheating, called Musk ‘Leon,” forgot Burgum’s name, called Brian ‘Briar,’ Keystone ‘Keystown,’ & Tampon ‘Tampom,’ said if he loses Israel will cease to exist, nuclear war will begin, this will be our last election, and the CO Gov will flee the state, posted an ad for his digital NFTs, ranted about Kamala standing on a box at the debate, and wrapped it up by saying schools are performing trans surgeries on students.
