People do change their minds based on new information, etc. but not the kind of constant flip-flopping Trump does. Trump doesn't change his mind on things as much as he just says whatever pops into his head depending on the audience and what he thinks works for him at that specific moment. His opinions and policies are guided by one overriding factor to all else: what works for me right now ?
Yup. It's hard to stomach Trump's toadies on TV bleating about Harris' lack of policy specifics. Meanwhile Trump is a flip-flopper on steroids. When he flips like a pancake for spur of the moment ego gratification, he essentially has no policies. Feeding his fragile ego and staying out of jail don't qualify as policy.

On that note -

Trump comes out against Florida's abortion rights ballot measure after conservative backlash
The GOP nominee landed in hot water on abortion after criticizing Florida’s six-week ban and initially declining to take a stance on a state ballot measure.

It's actually sorta safe to say that you can safely ignore what Trump says about... a lot of things, so long as you pay attention to who he's pandering to and his record. That reporting yesterday about Trump saying that Florida's 6 week ban was too short just got an eye roll out of me.

I now fully beleive that one of Trump has been so thrown off course by not running against Joe Biden he just cannot find his footing.
It aslo shows why surrouding yourslef with yes men is such bad policy. There is nobody around to save you from your won mistakes. Guaranteed, almost all real GOP political advisors would have said the Arlington Trip would be a bad idea, likely to backfire.
Trump is making mistake after mistake after mistake; many more then he did in previous elections. Yes, it won;t matter to the MAGAs and the "Will vote for anybody the GOP nominates" crowd, but it is killing him with the swing voters.
He is making some weak attempts to appeal to swing voters, but they are truly pathetic; they are not impressing the swing voters, but are hurign him with some of his core following.

Why is Trump tyring to keep the whole Arlington thing alive?
Best thing he can do is just keep quiet about it get it behind him, but he seems obssesed with trying to somehow "win" on this.
He can't. He can only hurthimself more with the swing voters he needs. I repeat, something has happened, he is not running a good campaing.

We should have Harris step down and nominate AOC. And then have AOC step down and nominate Greta Thurnberg. Then nominate Biden again. Then back to Harris. See if we can make Trump recreate that scene from Scanners.

I would like to know when Jay was there. He could have went there when there were restrictions in place because of Covid.

Nope; 2011. I'm simply wrong, and I'm not ashamed to admit it.

But he should definetly return when he is NOT on a guided bus tour.

Indeed. I've already resolved to do so.

it inot like Arlington is hard to get to, they have a DC Metro stop right at the entrance of the Avenue of Heros, the formal road to the main entrance.

Yes, that's how I've always traveled there, going back to the mid 1980s—my first visit.

Won't happen. Wild fantasy.

Alright, maybe not before 2028. Trump has a 96% chance of running in 2028, and an 80% chance of running in 2032. But when the 2036 election rolls around he'll be 90 years old and maybe then he'll think about retiring.

I can just see a man who has been a lifelong Democrat, who is generally liberal and bat crap crazy taking Trump's place.

It sounds like you can't see, rather than you can see. Hm.

But look at this way, Trump ran as a Democrat for many years, before switching, and he now says crazy things.

Think of RFK like fresh peeps candy. Just toss him in the back window of the car for a few years and he'll age up into something wonderful.

Trump is in reality a terrible candidate. The only reason he won in 2016 was because of the EC.

What personifies more than anything is Personal Irresponsibility - instead of Manning Up, the Buck will always stop at someone else, as far as he and his supporters are concerned.

What is 'election weaponising'?

Some Trump supporters are worried she will be allowed to cheat at the debate by having pages of notes ready to 'confound' him.

No, he won because a hell of a lot of people voted for him.

He should have lost by 20 points - he was a joke candidate, but sadly, a lot of Americans vote for their team regardless of who the candidate is.

It was a vanity project for Trump. The problem is America has real problems but no way to solve them. The political system is dysfunctional. Americans thought Trump would stir the pot but found out he was a cure worse than the disease.

It's not like Trump barely lost the popular vote. He lost the 2016 election by 3 million votes and the 2020 election by 7 million votes.

He'll continue running as long as he sees it as a viable tactic to avoid criminal prosecution.

@realDonaldTrump

Kamala Harris is the Weakest Presidential Candidate in History on Crime. She’s allowed millions of people to pour through our Borders, many from prisons, mental institutions and, indeed, terrorists, coming in at levels never seen before. What gives her the right to run for President? She got no votes to Biden’s 14 Million. She failed in her previous attempt, was the first one out of 22 people to quit, never made it to Iowa, and now she’s a Presidential Candidate? This is a Threat to Democracy!

We've been counting on Trump eventually being given enough rope to hang himself for a little too long at this point.

He's not going to Mister Bean into cutting his own political throat as much as we would like it and as much as that would happen in any sanely run universe.
