Vance reminds me of H.P. Lovecraft, who wrote in his letters that while his wife was Jewish, she was one of the "acceptable" Jews who had properly assimilated and couldn't be easily identified as Jewish.

I've seen TV commercials for Christian Rock albums that include clips from concerts, and there are usually people in the front rows who look exactly like that, swaying back and forth as they stare upward with expressions of bliss on their faces.

Up 10 in Minnesota is a good thing, but chiefly because it means Harris can ignore it for now and focus on expanding the map, rather than defending what should be for the Democrats a home field.

Nate Silver has some good news:

Harris looks as though she’s going to give Democrats more viable paths to victory through states like Georgia instead of forcing them to depend on the Pennsylvania + Michigan + Wisconsin “Blue Wall” trio.

Trump has been trending downward in the betting markets. He's still the favorite, but his chances of winning are down about 12 percentage points.
