Trump camp seeks extra debate rule: Third party inspectors to look for electronic devices in candidates' ears

President Trump is asking for an additional ground rule ahead of Tuesday night’s first presidential debate between himself and Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden. But the Biden campaign is rejecting it.

Fox News has learned that the president’s re-election campaign wants the Biden campaign to allow a third party to inspect the ears of each debater for electronic devices or transmitters. The president has consented to this kind of inspection, but a source said the Biden campaign has declined the ear check.

The Trump campaign, in the hours ahead of the debate, claimed Biden's campaign had agreed to such an inspection before reversing themselves.

“Joe Biden’s handlers several days ago agreed to a pre-debate inspection for electronic earpieces but today abruptly reversed themselves and declined. Biden’s handlers have asked for multiple breaks during the debate, which President Trump doesn’t need, so we have rejected that request," said Trump campaign spokesman Tim Murtaugh. "On top of the refusal to take a drug test, it seems pretty obvious that the Biden team is looking for any safety net they can find in the hours leading up to the debate. With his 47 years as a failed Washington politician, how much help does Biden want?

It seems pretty obvious to me that the Trump team is looking for any safety net they can find in the hours after the debate to excuse any degree of Trump failure in it- "well of course Biden did better! He was using performance-enhancing drugs and an audio feed for the answers, and we know this because he refused to be tested for either thing!" It's just poisoning-the-well as proactive butt-covering.

I live in a part of the country where it's not unusual to see, on some roads, three or four churches within less than a mile of each other- just down the state highway that runs past our side road, there's a place where there are two churches side-by-side and another one just across the street. It never fails to flabbergast me that people can be bamboozled into believing that their "right to worship god" is under such imminent and endless threat that just one SC Justice is all that stands between it and (presumably) their being fed to an atheist mob. If anything (and especially down here) it's directly the opposite- it's the atheists who feel the need to soft-pedal their (lack of) beliefs.

The moment a President tells them Belief is banned, they will all admit that they'd much rather do something else, anyway.

It's straight Trump/Biden/Trump/Biden every commercial break pretty much here.

Oddly unlike last Presidential race most all are actual "I am Trump/Biden and approve this message" ads from the candidates themselves instead of last election where there as a more even split between candidate ads and unaffiliated attacks from Pacs and Special Interest Groups and all that jazz.
 
It’s great that athletes are speaking out.
But some of them are spouting nonsense by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

After years of being told to “shut up and play,” athletes have finally fought

social equality.

Also strange poll numbers in the ABC Washington Post Poll in Pennsylvania.
It has Biden at 54% and Trump at 45% which puts them right at the edge
of statistical noise, I’ll say Biden has an even chance of winning. But I note
the 1% other category indicates a tight election. Not a good sign. So far the
average past polls has Biden at 48%, Trump at 44%, Jorgensen at 1.5%,
and Hawkins at 0.5%.


P. S. I’m not looking forward to the debate. Right now they're probably
giving Trump performance enhancing drugs with his pumpkin spiced
chia seed tea.

This country has normalized Trump's behavior so much that anything Biden does unusually, any gaffe he makes is magnified x10 and is a point against him for some reason.

All Trump needs to do in Florida to lose support is to not be Trump.
Biden is expected to not make any mistakes else he risks losing support. Trump is already up in the most recent polls.
 
The Trumpkins are really working hard to prepare excuses for why Trump will lose

1) Biden is on drugs
2) Biden has an earpiece
3) Biden got the questions ahead of time

No basis for any of it, of course. But talk about poisoning the well....
 
Biden has an unfair advantage because he's not an psychopathic manchild with the IQ of a dishrag.

It's totally unfair for Biden to use his brain or moral compass knowing that Trump has neither.

Trump has an unfair advantage because his cultists will spin whatever he does in a positive light, and blame anyone but him for his failings.
