2012 prophecies promoter and CERN LHC

The churches burnt one hell of a lot of stuff, but not directly. Instead, this was all done by the explorers and missionaries of the day, on behalf of the church, or by direct/indirect order of the church. I wouldn't have imagined the burning and destruction to be organized at all, because the churches weren't looking for anything. A safer bet would be that said codexes found their way through time, and now sit on the lofty lap of some multibillionare, or even still resting in a temple/ box undeground somewhere. It would be uncharacteristic of the Vatican to hide artefacts away, as doing so would be the equivalent of PR suicide. If it is linked to the Vatican, then the matter would be most likely in the hands of a secret sect, in which case, it wouldn't be in the Vatican Secret Archive

I would love to know more about it. I feel like the web isn´t going to deliver me with any good info on what was done to the codexes. I guess I would have to graduate in history and get me some research funds for this, LOL.

A plausible argument that I read somewhere was about the church gathering and burning/destroying things just because they thought the mayans and aztecs were somewhat religiously linked to heresy, black magic and crap, due to their strange rituals and sacrifices. That is plausible. The hypothesis that they hid it from the world is conspiracy theory, not impossible, but still a big CT, Dan Brown - like .

Dan Brown notwithstanding - UH?. The Vatican operates as any government agencies do. You could guarantee that they have nasty little secrets hidden away from view. You can only speculate on what they are, though.I'm not following the logic here. Why wouldn't the Vatican Secret Archives hold secret matters pertaining to the Vatican? And again, while trying to avoid a Dan Brown hat - these are only the archives that they admit to have. A number of governments have been caught out in that potential lie.

Yeah like I said, it wouldnt be impossible. Especially if the inteligent brains behind the vatican would discover amazing things about the logic behind codexes and calendars from an ancient civilization. Let´s make a Dan Brown scenario here. Imagine if they discovered astonishing things about the maya/aztec codexes and calendars. The church is about mass control through faith, which of course even they (church) know is about deluding and deceiving people. They would have to keep humanity from knowing these secrets of the universe so they can control everything in a more efficient way, being the only ones to know and use the secrets. Dan Brown just got his next script from my idea. Damn. I will patent it before he uses it for his next book without paying me any.

Is it only me that is amused by the fact that the Vatican Secret Archives has a webpage?

Not really, man, this is stranger than fiction. That should be prohibited, everything should be forcibly brought to public. Everything should be considered humanity patrimony. As there is suspicion that they´re holding valuable historical documents from the academic medium, it should be forced to become public at once. Vatican is above all the law...still.

p.S: sorry about my poor english, it is particularly bad in this post, iknow :D

This will calm your mind, then rile it up again, then calm it again.

1. If the LHC could create a black hole, it would "evaporate" almost immediately thanks to Hawking Radiation. Some numbers I read once suggested a black hole would have to be at least 1 cm in diameter before it could suck in matter faster than it would evaporate. This requires god only knows how many millions of full cargo ships of matter to create. A few protons' worth of mass won't do much.

Whew! But...

2. The LHC might also, however, create some kind of "strange matter". This matter would have to have two properties: A. It would have to be of lower energy than normal matter, i.e. a process to convert normal matter to it would have to release energy, like a fire or atom bomb, and B. It would have to act as a sort of catalyst such that by merely touching, or getting near, normal matter induces normal matter to convert to it.

Thus creating even a tiny amount would have horrific consequences, converting the planet to this state in a matter of seconds to days, depending on the rate. There'd probably also have to be a property, C, now that I think about it such that the reaction isn't so violent it blows apart the catalyzing strange matter, thus ending the runaway reaction before it gets anywhere.

Oh no! But...

3. The argument such a thing probably won't happen is that the upper atmosphere is struck with far more energetic particles than the LHC or any other conceivable machine could produce, all the time. Yet we're still here. So the physical possibility of such matter existing, or being creatable via such a process, is very small. I.e. it's been tested uncountable times over billions of years.

The response is, of course, the hyperbole that the LHC will create more energetic particles than at any time except 10 to the minus eight billionths of a second after the Big Bang. If true, then no such particles have actually hit the atmosphere.

However, the above is an exaggeration. "Oh My God" particles are hitting the atmosphere all the time -- These are protons moving so fast they carry the energy of a 60 MPH baseball!

They are so close to the speed of light, in one year (to an observer), they would travel only "47 nanometers (5×10−24 light-years) less than a light-year in one year".

How they come about is still just theory, but nevertheless uncounted numbers have hit the Earth and Sun and other planets and we're all still here after billions of years.

Thanks a lot for this info sir. I will look more into it for sure, this is very interesting.

Just wanted to say hi to fallout in this armageddon prophecy thread.

*ahem*

WHY, JUST WHY people are soooooo willing to discuss 9320482390723095 pages on a forum about armageddon prophecies??? I am starting to think the armageddon is real. Count the number of threads about armageddon prophecies here. There are dozens and all of them are big as hell to the point i´m simply disencouraged to read anything. JUST WOW ON YOU ALL!!!

Pardon the interruption. Just returning the favour.

Oh so you got offended?

LOL that wasn´t the intention. Bigfoot is still the biggest ******** EVER. And still people discuss ad infinitum about it. Why? I dont know! About 2012 conspiracies, well these are becoming more present and annoying as 2012 approaches. And Some things like solar flares and climate changing makes it a little interesting to discuss. What about your bigfoot? What can be interesting about debunking the obvious over the course of many many years? Sorry , didn´t mean to hurt you so much on your dear thread. No crysis please. :)

Nope...

Does John do battle with these two twins?

---

Seriously, what 'dark spot' are we supposed to be aligned with?

I think that would be the center of the galaxy, the exact "plane" of the galaxy. But these claims were debunked by some astronomers already. They said that it already occurred around 1998, and here we are to tell the story. I think I saw one of them speaking on Penn and Teller bullsh i t episode of 2012.

Wait a second, for all their faults, the one thing the Maya were supposed to be good at was astronomy, and know when stuff was supposed to show up in which part of the sky.

Are you and your experts suggesting they were 'off' by a decade?

So what date did this occur, so I can rewind my star map, and see if I can get these twins to show up and play some hip-ball.

There´s no "me and my experts" lol. I encourage you to do a little research. It´s good to see you interested on that, maybe we can harvest something useful out of this. Did you watch the penn and teller episode?

The Mayans never said the world was going to end in 2012, or that there would be a lineup with the centre of the galaxy in that year, or indeed anything else that is being claimed for 2012. They made no predictions about 2012 whatsoever. It's simply the year when their long count next rolls over.

Their calender was nothing but 'predictions'..

Although I don't know enough about it to expound.

If saying Wednesday follows Tuesday, then ALL calendars are nothing but "predictions"...

I your calender says "rainy mondays", followed by "soggy tuesdays", then you'd have a prophetic calender indeed.

Even if it was wrong a lot.

The Mayan Calender, correct me if I am wrong, 'describes each age'...?

Outside of unverifiable woo sites, I believe you are wrong.
They are "merely" calendars.

Can you give a (valid) source for your understanding that Mayan calendars were used by them for predictions of any kind other than the identification of Mayan religious days?

The Mayan or Aztec calendars were based on astronomy (most calendars are galactic based), which for them led to astrological/mythological beliefs. The "long count" calendar is coming to an end on or around December 21 2012. I will be turning 30 years old on that date, so all I have to say about it is "please prepare to bow to your new God." Send cash because this God needs money to pay his buills (paypal donations accepted).

The end of the world prophecies fascinate me, not just the fact that they are so outlandish, be it CERN, Nostradamus, Planet X or whatever, but the mindset required to believe the world is coming to end.

When you question people on their beliefs in this area they get really offended, offended!! Offended that you are trying to tell them the world is not going to end and they aren't going to die in 3 years.

That just boggles my mind, if they really believe the world is going to end in 3 years thats akin to be told you have a fatal disease and have 3 years to live, yet you try to tell them they have MUCH longer to live (probably) they don't want to hear it. It should be good news!

It's sad in a way, if their life is so void of meaning and happiness that, in their head, they want the world to end to bring their existence to and an end.

That is so tragic. Either that or they think the world is going to end, but think they will be OK. Maybe they don't understand the implications of the end of the world.

There's a book by Patrick Moore called "Countdown! or How Nigh is the End?", which details the history of doomsday prophecies. It's a good read.
