tam activities

I'm looking for a good, and not too expensive, costume shop in Vegas. Does anyone have any leads?

In addition to the discounted Penn and Teller show, I'd like to catch a Blue Man show and possibly O Cirque du Soleil, although I am undecided on "O" because it is hideously expensive. Is anyone else planning on attending these? :D I would be there June 18th-22nd, so I would be catching them...

It appears that most TAM attendees are of drinking age, and while I'm mentally over 21, chronologically I'm 19. So, I was thinking of networking/organizing something with the younger TAM attendees on the non-forum party night. Whadya think? I think Kitty made a thread like this for TAM 5, but...

Is anyone up for a Red Rocks trip at some point during TAM? There's no official geology tour this year, but I'm itching to get out there for at least part of a day as it's so beautiful and such a refreshing change of scenery from The Strip. Anyway, I'm out of climbing shape because of a recent...

At TAM4, some of the forumites walked the strip and sampled the nectar of the FSM. Jas ended up with a man made of pipe cleaners. Who's up for it this year? I don't want to crawl alone.

Okay, if anyone is interested... I am (tenatively) planning a trip on Thursday January 17th [the day before the official TAM opening to the Nevada Test Site] It will be leaving in the morning and will be taking up the better part of the day. Stops will include the Nuclear Testing Museam and...

There is a place in Las Vegas where you can shoot guns of various types and styles. It is called, not surprisingly, The Gun Store. Several JREF Forum folks went there last year (the sight of rebecca with an automatic weapon was enough to stun everyone to speechlessness) and had a great time...

Okay, maybe I have missed it, but is there a plan to have a Pajama Party on Friday Night at TAM? I've got the PJ's. :D

I did not see a thread on that already, if there was one, my apologies. I propose following the same pattern as last year. We can have it in my and Luciana's room (if she does not mind, of course!) Thursday evening, about an hour after the meeting breaks up. Saturday is the party, Friday Lance...

I am planning on attending TAMIII. And it sickens me that a whole bunch of people who are going to be at TAM III (well, I suspect that these people will be there) speak English really, really well even though it is not their native language. Since I have neither the ability nor desire to go...

This idea was generated over dinner with Claus, budddyh and Finella- all great people. We figured as people find out great restaurants, good deals, etc- post them here for other Tamsters, in lieu of a bulletin board...assuming attendees can read JREF at TAM Tip 1. Absolutely great Thai...

Anyone here interested in seeing the Blue Man Group? They are at the Luxor hotel in Vegas. (Tickets are very pricey though... $93). See: http://www.blueman.com/ticketinfo/lasvegas.shtml Been searching some of the Vegas tourism web sites. http://www.lasvegas.com has a good list of attractions...

Exarch´s last post in the Top Ten List thread just did it. Mr. "Belgian chocolate is the best in the world" Exarch, I hereby challenge you to prove this once and for all. :p Let us settle the matter at TAM2. I will bring German chocolate - brand: Milka, type: full-cream milk - to the...

Fieldtrip: The Geology of Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area by Dr. Raymond "Slick" Beiersdorfer Professor of Geological and Environmental Sciences Youngstown State University Youngstown, OH 44555 [email protected] and Mark C. Wheeler, M.Sc. President and Principal Geologist...

For all of us that are planning on going to the TAM, but have never been to Vegas, what should we NOT MISS? Please, not Celine (for one thing I can't afford her) Especially eats! People keep talking about how good the food is.
