there is going to be in investigation, from the "European...
Finally I can get the vaccine for my daughter, she is 6 years old. The vaccines are Pandemrix and/or Celvapan. I'm not sure we will be able to choose, but in case we can.. is there proof about one being better/having less side effects, etc than the other?
Can one strain of flu "crowd out" others?
I had thought that the presence of one strain would have no effect on the prevalence of others, but apparently this might not be true.

I wonder if simply drinking and eating them offers any protection?
On a side note, I have been unable to find the swine flu vaccine... but I can get the seasonal one.. will it offer some kind of protection? From scattered reports...
Grist to the mill for Alex Jones, USA declaring a state of emergency over swine 'flu.
I'm assuming this is correct.
If so, it must rank as one of the worst declarations of a state of emergency of all time. I accept some different measures my be needed, but it's been adequately shown that swine...

Most who die from new H1N1 flu had conditions: CDC
Near half of [hospitalized] swine flu patients otherwise healthy
These are both reports in Yahoo on the same day about the same medical report from CDC.
In the first article it says:
Technically "most" had an underlying medical condition. But...
And anyone else who wants to chime in.
Last week my neighbor's 14 year old was diagnosed with 2009H1N1. The boy's physician told them Tamiflu was being reserved for high risk patients only and the doc did not prescribe the drug for the boy.
I don't see it that way and I wrote him a script...
For some reason they stopped tested folks for H1N1 in our area (my mother-in-law is a nurse in the area and she said because of cost considerations)--but they continued testing anyone under one. My daughter, 10 months old, was really sick and we had to take her to the hospital. They did the...

It appears that the Youtube Account of leading Australian sceptic Richard Saunders has been suspended over a copyright claim.
Saunders, possibly best known for his stint as the sceptical judge on "The One, a sort of "psychic idol" show, had posted a clip from a Channel 10 morning show in which...
Ok my mother does church work at a trailor park with illegal immigrant Mexicans. She caught the flu and I caught it from her. We have both recovered. The symptoms are low grade fever and coughing up massive amounts of phlem. It lasted six days but overall its not as bad as the regular...
At first, Tamiflu was the magic elixir to defend against the raging dragon of pandemic flu. However, as with most drugs, effects also bring side-effects. And when the disease itself is not quite the raging dragon it was originally feared to be, cost-benefit analyses may start to look less...

In the meantime, he's still in our country. This is a blow to all those hoping he'd pull a Madonna and become a UKOGBANIian.
I get vaccinated most years against seasonal flu, but I have seen comments about how ineffective it is. I've not paid close enough attention to draw my own conclusion, but have simply assumed that if the NHS has decided it's a good thing for vulnerable patients then I'd like some of that...
