Quick note - the problem with Youtube videos not embedding on the forum appears to have been fixed, thanks to ZiprHead. If you do still see problems let me know.
It seems so intuitive - A small turbine, such as this, could realistically generate 1/5 of the annual energy for the average household (2400khw and 1.1MW, respectively). Telephone poles are ideal because they are already maintained, essentially paid for, and kept free from obstruction while...
Ok I know this is the Daily Mail but couldn't find much elsewhere.

You can see the poster in the link.

Oct. 21, 2011 BOOM !
At least I'm happy for the billboard companies. Fools need to be separated from their monies to possibly learn a lesson, but I hate to see it happen to the poverty stricken fools who could use that money for practical purposes.
Good to see a church has a sense of humor. Shame some christians did not.

Anglicans, being almost heathens, for whom no special belief is essential, have arrnged for this billboard to be placed outside their central Auckland church:
The Roman Catholics, whose doctrine of course insists that mary remained a lifelong virgin, is righteously pissed off that one of...

This billboard went up in Baltimore this week, with the URL for the Baltimore Coalition of Reason. I've never heard of them before, and there's not much on their website. Maybe they should have...
The landowner of a site who rented a billboard to atheists for their message, had it taken down recently because of threats he received. Here's the revised link:

Okay, to our Believer...
So a group of Christians angry about billboards put up by atheists have launched a response. These ads have early American leaders like John Adams, James Madison and Benjamin Franklin with quotes about a national need for Christian governance. The only catch is that the quotes are made up...
Billboards have gone up for a month letting atheists in the Metroplex they are not alone.
There's no comments on that story, but when I get time I'm going to check other sites for commentary. I'm sure the local fundies will be outraged. There were two negative calls to KDFW Fox 4's Viewers...

"A beer billboard that offended many Christian groups in Hamilton is coming down almost as quickly as it went up."

Just saw on CNN that the Colorado Coalition of Reason is putting up billboards for the holidays which say "Don't believe in God? You're not alone" - which is stirring up some resentment. I like the idea, and am glad it sparks the conversation and debates that it does. Many people are offended...
Link with photo of the billboard.
"PWC" = Prince William County, which over the last year has enacted some tough ordinances aimed at illegals.
It appears there's no law in Manassas, Virginia, that prohibits putting up a billboard on your private property.
I guess you could say that the answer...
Where do these religious anti-abortion people get all this money for billboards? How much does the average billboard cost in the midwest? It can't be that cheap. Driving down 35w alone I see no less than 7 anti-abortion billboards, and I lose count once I hit the cities. They're *everywhere*...

I'll admit, I think this advertising campaign is tremendously inappropriate, but leave it to good ol' AJ to give the Infinite Paranoia Drive a bit more gas.
A new billboard poster has been erected on the roadside on my way home from word. It is a big, ugly, green and white sign that simply says JESUS. I've been wondering who this sign is intended for. My guess is that it is for disgruntled Christians that have had a bad day at work and are...
They crack me up.
I have rarely seen one that actually tried to convince me that I should go to church. All I've ever seen are the kind with huge letters and a message something like
HAVE YOU DECLARED JESUS AS YOUR LORD AND SAVIOUR?
Uhhh, no. Why do you ask?
I don't think they're actually...
