Will Speaker Johnson and the rest of the Republicans in the House allow the winning Democrats to actually be seated?

As I said in the very first post in this thread, they will make every effort to prevent legitimately elected democrats from being seated. No matter what it takes.

Nobody's tried to suggest what the next step is when that happens.

Even if SCOTUS rules the result must stand*, who's going to stop the MAGA from ignoring them too?

*That is by no means certain, but some recent decisions suggest a split on the side of the law.

Gorsuch & Barrett have ruled against Trump enough times to hope.

The Arcons have had several crash-outs of their members being critical of Trump's seeming inaction and indifference to the upcoming elections. The result is that several threads have been outright removed lest anyone of the cracking faithful see them faltering.

A new poll out of Iowa has the Democratic candidate for the Senate in Iowa, Josh Turek, leading by 8 points. Caution: The screen was for Registered Voters and not Likely Voters. If the Republicans have to defend Iowa, they're screwed and if they lose Iowa, it'll be a complete bluenami.

A conservative Iowa radio host shared some brutal news about the state of the GOP heading into the midterms:

He confided that GOP pollsters have informed House Republicans that GOP +15 districts are now straight toss-ups, and GOP +10 districts are now “underwater.”

That appears to be accurate, at least in Red States. For example, consider Ohio. Trump won the Buckeye State in 2024 by 11 percentage points. Today, Democrat Sherrod Brown is polling about 4 percentage points ahead of the Republican candidate for the Senate from that state. In Iowa, Trump won by 13 points but the Democrat this year is 0.4 percentage points ahead in polling.

However, the effect is nowhere near as strong in Blue or Purple states. Kamala Harris won Maine by 7 points but the Democratic candidate for the Senate from that state is only polling 1 point ahead. In Michigan, where Trump won by 1 point, El-Sayed is only 2.7 points ahead of the Republican Senate candidate.

They are truly playing with fire here.
If they try that, I think some Democratic Governmors will declare that the COngress is illigitmate, and has no legal power.
We are closer to total chaos, with the naturally ensuing violence, then many here like to admit.
All I can say is thank God for the Second Amendment, frankly.

Democrat governors won't do that. Because they believe in the US Constitution.
Republican governors, on the other hand, mostly don't so will try to declare the Democratic Congress illegitimate.
I reluctantly agree with you third sentence.
January 3, 2027 will make January 6, 2020 look like nothing. And don't forget, Trump will still be President.

Hell, I think that they have to defend the Senate Seat in Texas, which should be a walk over for them, is more telling then Iowa.

I hope both of these statements are incorrect.
I hope so true, but hopes do always become reality.
no one knows what will happen.
But if what Trebuchet predicts is true, you will see politicla violence like we have not seen since the Civil War. if Americans think that the ballot box is no longer a sollution for their problem, they will find other means.

January 6, 2020 was nothing.

Both states went for Trump by about 13-14%, but keep in mind Paxton is a terrible candidate with an extensive past of shady dealings, while Ashley Hinson is a former news anchor with a perfect smile and no apparent skeletons in her closet.

Not really much change on the polling side; in several cases (Maine, Texas, Ohio and Alaska) the Republican has done marginally better in recent polling. However, the betting markets have swung strongly to the Democrats in those same states (except Maine). This actually makes a lot of sense; the chief reason the bettors have been holding back on believing in the bluenami was time, which is now running out for the Republicans. I added Kansas to the grid on the basis of several articles indicating the GOP is diverting funds from North Carolina to that state, but winning there would be gravy. Polymarket currently has the Democrats at 63% to take the Senate.

El-Sayed: answers questions
Senator Mike, to all questions: my opponent is Muslim

Many folks in the comments section of the following article are calling for civil war if the fat clown does this:

Trump advised to 'seize ballots' across US as he won't 'relinquish control again': report

President Donald Trump was advised by Tina Peters, a convicted former Colorado election clerk, to seize ballots nationwide, according to her attorney, who says Trump won't "relinquish control again."
(SNIP)

I have a feeling that if he does do this (big if), the resulting civil war will give the fat clown exactly what he needs in order to call a national emergency and cancel the election, but this is just my opinion.

As always, your mileage may vary of course.
