Trump's promised ICE raids have begun

It's really not about the guy being MS-13. It's about him being a foreign violent criminal who came to the US illegaly and harming Americans. If the US had actually enforced it's border, the young women would not have been killed.
So only foreigners commit murder?

Thats the total for all offices. This would be per office, which there are 25 of from a quick search. So 1,875 a day, roughly 6x more than current at the goal rate, 684k per year. For perspective ICE had 158k arrests in 2018 which was the highest of trumps first term.
Doesn't say that.

No, it's about finding the source of Homan's declaration that 14 to 17-year-old MS13 members are in the schools, giving him the excuse to go marching in and maybe getting a lot of kids killed.

Here's a thought. Why don't they wait for them to leave and go home?

Nope, still doesn't prove he was MS13. Just a lot of world salad with no proof.

I don't quite get your empathy for foreign criminal murderers, but this is from the Maryland State's Attorney. If this doesn't placate you, I guess nothing will do.

On Wednesday, August 21, 2024, Walter Javier Martinez, 19, entered a guilty plea for the charge of First Degree Murder before the Honorable Yolanda L. Curtin in the Circuit Court for Harford County.
Defense Counsel for Martinez gave a brief history of the defendant’s life in El Salvador and stated that the defendant illegally entered the United States by employing “cayotes” or smugglers in March 2022, just four months prior to this brutal murder. They also confirmed that Martinez was, in fact, a member of the MS-13 gang.

If it was about illegality and protecting people from violent criminals, Trump supporters would be incensed about the illegalities of the Trump administration and the hundreds of violent criminals Trump just put back on the streets. But they’re not. They don’t care in the slightest.

Logic dictates it must be something else.

Gee, I wonder what it is.

How did they confirm it is the question none of the maga weirdoes can answer.

IMO, that's quite telling.

BTW, they're called "cOyotes" not "cAyotes": Someone who's paid to take illegals into the US.

I actually met some bak in the day when I lived in Arizona.

There is no other way to read that passage.

I agree with your second sentence much in the same way I hate the idea of no knock raids at homes in the middle of the night. Far safer locations seem likely.

As for the first part, eh. What level of evidence would suffice? There are numerous arrests of ms13 gang members involving minors. They actively target school age kids for recruitment. If their numbers are estimated in the thousands, would you concede hundred of members are likely in that age bracket? If not, what proof would change your mind?

You are kind of ignoring all evidence. There was a house judiciary investigation. They confirmed his ms13 associations with El Salvadoran officials. Gang tattoos, etc. The Baltimore sun has a number of articles about this but behind pay walls for most of them. If there is a reason to be skeptical I am all ears.

Until I see where you got this information or how exactly it was confirmed (tattoos and El Salvadorian officials? Really?), I'll always be skeptical, and besides, none of that proves how Homan got his info, nor does it justify going into schools and grabbing kids and maybe getting a lot of innocent children killed which was the whole point of my original question.

ETA: Give me a link to these "paywall" articles. I know a trick on how to get into a lot of them. Some will even allow you a certain number of free articles before you have to pay, and if worse comes to worse, I'll pony up the cash.

Trausti literally linked to the the Maryland attorney General statement on the case, where the defense attorney admits to his ms13 affiliation. Here is a link to the house judiciary report. If you want more info you can simply search the victims name.

This isn't skepticism. There is no counter argument, no contrary opinion, no basis for the idea. No one is claiming he was not affiliated with ms13, not even the defendant himself.

Same reason I asked what level of evidence would sway you in regards to youth membership. I could link court cases. I could link the fbi reports on them targetting minors for recruitment. But I see no reason to bother if you will just dismiss it without a basis for why.

Thank you.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt for now, but it still doesn't prove how or where Homan got his info from, nor does it justify going into schools and grabbing kids and maybe getting a lot of innocent children killed---which was the whole point of my original question.

No one has an answer to that one yet.

How can I be ignoring evidence that I haven't even seen yet.

At the moment, it's only a lot words, just like Homan's interview.

It took me a while, but I finally found out when this alleged MS-13 gang member came into the country, and if this article is right, it was during trump's last term:

'This could have been anyone's daughter': Mother suing DHS, HHS for $100M after MS-13 immigrant allegedly strangles daughter for $6

David Harris Jan 23rd, 2024, 4:15 pm

Officers from the Aberdeen Police Department in Maryland responded to a home around 5 p.m. on July 27, 2022, for a cardiac arrest. When they arrived they found 20-year-old Kayla Hamilton dead from apparent strangulation. Police said at the time that they zeroed in on a 17-year-old male suspect who had rented a room in Hamilton’s home. In January 2023, the boy was charged with first-degree murder.

(SNIP)

Investigators learned the teen, from El Salvador, had entered the country as an unaccompanied minor in 2020 and was an alleged member of the MS-13 gang. The lawsuit, filed by Brian Claypool of the California-based Claypool Law Firm, alleges that DHS committed “operational negligence” by not properly inspecting the boy when he crossed the border.

That certainly tracks with Trump’s inclination to risk the safety of Americans by putting violent criminals on the streets. That was literally one of his campaign promises. Trump voters seem to want that, for some reason.

True, but at that rate, he'll get less than 600,000 deported before his term ends.

Is that "bigly" enough for you?
Since the focus of these raids is violent offenders and other bad actors that should have been detained and deported already, I'd actually expect the numbers to drop off, as this backlog gets cleared and other enforcement efforts start to take effect. And that suits me just fine.
