What's going on at TAM?

Because of the Ramadan issue, the JREF announced that they were prepared to wave the 12 month wait for a retest and would be willing to test him after Ramadan and it appears this was accepted and they will work together to set a date.

Why? I mean, why waste your time?

So, does his representative live in Algeria and he just came to Vegas for the test? If they went to that kind of trouble, why didn't the applicant show up himself?

It's a good question, since you could take a wild guess from anywhere. Is remote viewing from distant Algeria more impressive than remote viewing from a stage across the hall from the sealed room?

But someone had to be in Vegas. The agreement had to be signed live on stage. Also, after the "item placer" (Richard Saunders) closed the room, the rep was summoned to seal it with gaffer's tape and he and Saunders signed the seal.

And this hasn't been mentioned yet: there was fourth item in the room (aside from the table). The rep provided one of his shirts to be placed on the table with the other items arranged equidistant from it. After the failed guess he explained that the applicant would use this shirt to zero in on the location.

3 out of 20.

Initially, JREF prepared a list of 25 items. The applicant reviewed the list and asked that 5 items be removed. I guess it was part of the protocol. The final list was 20 and he had to hit all 3 chosen items.

So how come you listed him having picked items 22 and 23? Or was he for some reason allowed to review the list after everything had already been set up and all the items numbered? That would seem like a rather odd way of doing it, surely you'd want him to approve the list in advance. What would have happened if he didn't like any of the items on the list?

We were shown two sets of photos: the final 20 and the removed 5. Each photo showed an item on a sheet of paper with a handwritten number. I assume this is how the applicant reviewed the items. Renumbering would require rephotographing.

I don't know what would have happened had he rejected most or all of the list. That scenario was not discussed. I'm guessing the goal was to arrive at an approved twenty

I'm working on a report that covers much of the MDC for 2013. Lots of what we did to get to Sunday night. Should appear on Swift before long.

Thank you. I'm looking forward to it. I assume that you've read this thread and that the report will answer the questions that were raised here (as well as answer a bunch that were not raised here and probably spur some new questions as well).

Thanks again,
Ward
