When we moved to Xenfora some of the signature options didn't come over. In the old software signatures were limited by a character limit, on Xenfora there are more options and there is a character number and number of lines limit. I've set maximum number of lines to 4 and unlimited characters.

I challenge you:cite ONE paper that discerns Science from Pseudoscience wth CERTAINTY

Hi all, I consider myself a true skeptic in the sense that I know that I know nothing... and even I couldn't be sure of that, may I add. :-) My philosophical and intellectual position is that there is NO WAY to tell science from pseudoscience with certainty. But I'm happily open to you...

New study about the attitude to science & health all over the world

It has made Danes claim that Danes are the world’s greatest ”science enthusiasts” (videnskab.dk, June 25, 2019), but maybe we're just more conceited than others in this respect: The study has intersting information about the attitude to vaccinations around the world. Also: How much does the...

"Science is bad and must be destroyed"

C9SiRNibD14 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9SiRNibD14&feature=youtu.be Truly fascinating discussion. Turns out science is all just colonialism, and is fake. We should listen to the witchdoctors instead. They know how the world works, not scientists.

    Is sociology a science?

I heard it said that sociology isn't a science because it makes theories that can't be falsified or that sociologists make unscientific claims. I personally don't understand this. Questions like "is drug-addiction more prevalent among certain ethic groups?" or "Are there gender bias in hiring...

    Core within the core?

If I understand basic geophysics correctly, the inner parts of the Earth can be divided into the mantle, consisting of rock, and the core, consisting of iron and nickel. The reason that the iron and nickel form the core is simply that they're a lot heavier, so they've sunk the deepest. What I...

    When did science start?

This is something for you philosophers of science out there. Modern science is typically said to have started in the 16th and 17th centuries during the scientific revolution. Here we flippantly define science in one sentence

Science is such a huge discipline that it is impossible to define in one simple statement. But in this thread I challenge you to do just that. I'll start: Science is the process by which we determine whether we actually know what we think we know.
