But it's a good cause.

I've signed up, I'll post any relevant content from the next newsletter.

I'm a member. It is not just a good cause, it's a darn good read and well worth a tenner in my opinion!

I can't see anything about the flaccon case in the March edition of the Adversaria, in the membership only part of Aske or anywhere else on the website. To be fair we are not quite at the end of March yet. I'll check back on April 1.

As expected, flaccon disagrees with ASKE's conclusion, and continues to believe as she did.

Thanks for linking the article Pixel42.

Thanks for the link, Pixel. Shame that the outcome was entirely predictable.

I wonder if Flaccon will return to give her version of events?

I loved how he ended it:
"I would like to thank ‘C’ for inviting ASKE to investigate her claim and for her patience in cooperating with this preliminary test."

Man's a saint. And, yeah, the test went as we all knew it would: it failed and flaccon tried to chum the waters with spirit PC possession. Oy!

Thanks for the link. This will not deter Flaccon in her beliefs. However, I think it should be noted by any and all "believers" that skeptics are willing to go to great lengths to interpret and test their claims in the most fair manner possible.

Great lengths indeed, and, as Donn says, the patience of a saint, since Mr Heap was basically accused of cheating:
C [flaccon] then informed me that on receiving the recording she had not downloaded it but had forwarded it to a friend who would then play it to her over the telephone so she could listen to it prior to D [flaccon's download]. Her friend had then given her a description of its contents, which corresponded to those reported above. This friend was convinced that I had muted the microphone when I made the recording and C was seeking expert opinion on this. I reassured her that the microphone had not been muted. However, she asked for another recording with my voice at the beginning and end and I duly complied, repeating the above procedure.

It's also a little hard for me to understand flaccon's insistence that the recording should only be listened to via external computer speakers rather than headphones; if the intent is to make sure that the "spirits" are interfering objectively with the recording, I can't see why you would want to listen to it in a way that could actually introduce ambient noises, rather than in a way that would isolate it from them.

Was it just me or was the information that FLACCON is deliberately "pricking" herself to draw blood and create more images new and very disturbing?

Disturbing, yes, but not really surprising. If there was any doubt left, it puts paid to the idea that flaccon is far more to be pitied than mocked. She needs help.

I think you mean that the other way around, unless you really think she should be mocked (or that idiom means the opposite where you are).

I've received my first ASKE newsletter via email, it does indeed include an article about flaccon's application. The email also pointed to a pdf version at a temporary link here:

which non members should be able to read for a while.

Thanks so much, Pixel42.

Seconded.

Not just you.
I was driven to a second glass of decent Rioja to cope with the images.

Thanks Pixel - I was impressed at how Michael Heap didn't give even a hint of the frustration that seems to inevitably accompany attempts to work with Flaccon. Remarkable.
