TAM XII/2014 roll call

Excited to be going for my second year! I'm planning on manning a booth for Carbon Dating, and I'm even bringing the in-laws to Vegas with us.

It'll be their first TAM, although I lucked out... My father-in-law is a science teacher and has been reading Skeptic Magazine for years!

This is helpful for newbies and as options get more complicated. I'm glad they decided to offer the budget option, because I know many wished they could eat elsewhere to reduce their costs.

The table looks right to me. I initially had a question about whether the catered opening reception counted as a "conference meal" (since I think many people just eat there and skip dinner, as there's more than enough food), but since purchasing a separate ticket for the reception is not an option, I assume it's included even in the budget package.

One additional note for those who may not know--you can purchase individual event tickets à la carte online, and you can also purchase these at the TAM registration desk when you're there, so no need to decide on everything when registering. I'm not aware of any event ever selling out completely.

I should probably add that the Reception probably has a cash bar. And, that there are a few other events not included in any of the packages: The SGU Dinner, the "Intimate" VIP Luncheon, and such.

And, perhaps I might list what a single-day person might get.

ETA: Oh, and perhaps I should add a line that a portion of the TAM Experience counts as a tax-deductible charitable donation, or something.

Anything else my draft was missing?

I don't think I'll be making it this year. I already have two conferences I'm attending in July, and a third (especially TAM) will stretch me way too thin, both financially and in terms of travel fatigue.

However, I will be more than happy to contribute to the TAM scholarship fund again :)

I wasn't sure if I wanted to go this year (for various reasons), but I'm thinking I might. I have the time booked off work, I just need to get tickets, book hotel and flights...
