(CNN) -- At least 27 people were killed and 109 others were wounded in an attack Saturday in a railway station in the southwest Chinese city of Kunming, authorities said, according to state news agency Xinhua.

Which takes us nowhere, of course, but indicates there might be a motive other than terror fear slight concernism.

Which takes us nowhere, of course, but indicates there might be a motive other than terror fear slight concernism.

But there were multiple assailants, not a lone nut. That's why terrorism seems far more likely to me.

Assuming this is true, it's going to be interesting to see how this gets handled. Those of us old enough to remember the US/USSR/China three-way standoff may have a little trouble wrapping our heads around the fact that all three may now have a common enemy.

Whether it is true in this case or not - and it looked like it from the beginning. It is true in general - Muslim separatist groups in Western China often make the news.
