It's all hard to make out because it's so faint but the second voice at the end is relatively loud, and I think it's this second voice which flaccon believes is not part of the ad at all but a spirit voice talking directly to her. The second guy is deliberately trying to sound a bit demonic, but of course that's just a riff on the name of the store.

Actually, he's deliberately trying to sound like Wolfman Jack. Unless it's a really old clip and it is the Wolfman. :D

Quote (by flaccon):
I'd like to be able to decipher the entanglement in the background, it sounds a busy place. Its like talking to my Father, and him replying back, using the same words we use. There are occasions when he speaks without sounding like he has laryngitis. One thing I find more strange (believe it or not) my Father never swore in the 42 years I knew him. He swears in the spirit-world. It's just unheard of, him swearing. I never heard him even say "flipping heck" nothing, and he raised 7 children... There is little point in me explaining in bits, of their information. To arrive at some real understanding, one has to be firmly convinced that a spirit exists, and only through solid evidence, can one begin to understand the rest... The problem with this is, they cannot see the future. It's likely that they do not use search engines. They hear bits & pieces, and lipread the rest. The can't read our thoughts either, I tested that one.

My hat's certainly off to anyone who tried, but I can't see how it's possible to reason with someone who states so baldly that accepting the conclusion first ("that a spirit exists") is the only way to understand the evidence. To go (in spirit) with the old saying, you can't reason someone out of a circle they haven't used reason to get into.

It's the woo version of kurious kathy's mindset - to accept Christianity you have to have faith in the bible and not let your intellect get in the way.

kurious kathy!
Good times.

Still, flaccon has reached out to ASKE and the press. I'm looking forwarad to reading how those encounters played out.

It's been suspiciously quiet so far, although if flaccon wanted validation from ASKE and the press and didn't get it I suppose that's only to be expected.

I'd like to know more about this, posted by flaccon last June:

It was only when a spiritual "protection" came, a loud and disturbing battle took place (Loud ethereal noises) That night, the cracking and creaking were replaced by a more gentle "pottering" sound. It was this "protection, that took me through a series of weird visions, to have me see the answers to our personal and unexplainable suffering.

What were these 'weird visions'? And why is flaccon so unwilling to share this great revelation? I'm sure we're all prepared to make allowances for the fact that she's 'not literate' enough to make everything clear, but since the spirits are so desperate to share this info with the world you'd think she'd make a bit more effort to get it across. I suspect she knows full well that to anyone other than a True Believer said revelation will sound trite or absurd, like one of those earth-shattering messages we sometimes get in dreams or under the influence of drugs.

flaccon's spirits are too late; the secret they wish to tell us has already been revealed:

I, like many of you, think flaccon is not trolling, but is sincere in her beliefs.

However, I think that she has not received competent help. Part of the reason for this may be her refusal to accept such help.

Alice Shortcake, I will add my thanks to those of the other posters. Very well done!

Edited to remove, on second thought. It was not intentional, but what I wrote could well be read as an insult. Sorry!

Dutch's Hyper Dimensional Design thread has been going for 7 years exactly today.

He urged us to "put aside the rational ego".

While I never followed a kurious kathy thread, there are similarities in how both Dutch and flaccon won't accept rational explanations, won't answer questions, and cling to their fantasies despite repeated debunkings.

As I stated a long time ago, this is religion and identity; and has nothing to do with a rational pursuit of objective truth. There is absolutely no chance of the OP and crew changing their most cherished beliefs on account of clear and convincing evidence when their very sense of self is at stake.

So true.

Flaccon just couldn't cope with changing her mind now. She's not strong enough emotionally to alter her confused worldview.

Prove me wrong, dear flaccon!

Can you contact ASKE directly to get their version of events?
I've already brought this thread to their attention, if they think they have new information worth posting doubtless they will do so. I will keep on eye on their website, if they accept an application for the Sisyphus Prize and start the process of testing it they will presumably announce it there. I wouldn't expect them to know anything about Friday's events, though, as my understanding is they were not invited.
