As you'll recall, the article specifically sourced the pictures to "Italian police."



Can you think of a reason why the Daily Mail would make a gross error and wrongly attribute the photos to police if they were not? Especially considering the possibility of sanction from those police and the prosecutor who did indeed file charges against journalists whose articles displeased him?

I guess that depends on what is meant by "released" in the article you link. Were these photos released in the court files, or released by an individual which sold the photos to media? And who exactly is Italian police?

The Daily Mail probably didn't know the prosecutor would file charges against journalists whose articles displeased him since that was allegedly done well after these photos were released in January 2008.

Yes. They had both versions ready even with made up quotes in order to be first to publish. It wasn't totally false, just wrong about the actual verdict.

I agree with Mary's comment that Rudy could be in danger (from the police or their handymen). Rudy could do a lot of harm to the PLE if he tells what he did that night and how the police and prosecutor roped in innocent people. Suppose his lawyer told him to play along and not rock the boat and he discusses that. If I were a journalist like the apprentice who befriended Curatolo, Quintavall and Nara, I would be salivating at the chance to befriend Rudy with a concealed recorder turned on.

What would make Rudy talk? Liquor could loosen his tongue. Drugs. Money. Even just a good friend willing to listen.

If Rudy could make it to Britain or the United States, he could make some money just ratting out the PLE.

Incidentally, his getting the fraudulent 'exact match' forensic report from the Polizia Scientifica regarding Raffaele's shoes 'matching' the bloody shoeprints Rudy left at the cottage ought to give you a big clue as to how he managed to get the double body swap 'proven' in the Monster of Florence case, if the bunnies weren't lying about that having been 'accepted.'

IIRC, when the police wanted to claim that Lumumba's bar was closed on the evening of the murder, the police found a witness ready to testify to that. I assume the police can find a witness to testify to whatever the police might need.

The problem in this case is that the bar really was open and there are patrons who will testify that they were in the bar that evening.

It sure took them a long time to realize that though. The Swiss professor contacted them soon after Patrick was arrested and they still didn't accept it after spending seven hours with him, despite the fact numerous others had also come forward to alibi Patrick. However if you read Matteini you get the impression Patrick could come up with no one and the only evidence they had was the clown who said it was closed.

Funny how they missed (or ignored) all those other people when they brought it before Matteini. Kind of like how they had no interest in the CCTV cameras not showing Amanda or Raffaele on the route from his apartment to the cottage...

This verdict is based off humans who I have serious questions about their ability to know this case. How could these people understand C&V without hearing them explain the results?

Im sure a lot of courtrooms are like this, with untrained people listening to DNA science presentations and not understand 5% of whats being said.
Then they go to a room and make a verdict on someones life? Anyone see anything wrong with this?

Ive never followed a case like this for so long, and its all seeming pretty sloppy and ignorant (in an innocent way)...its just the current system Italy has today. As good as it gets, I guess?
