I... honestly wouldn't count that against him at all. Abortion is horrific, honestly. Hence one of the reasons why I strongly support using contraception properly during heterosexual sex if one isn't intending to have a baby. It's very much an unfortunate thing to feel the need to do, as far as I'm concerned.

It'll be interesting to read what he has to say about contraception. I bet he remains silent on this as long as possible, but the traddies will badger him until he says something on the topic.

What's not horrible about it?

It's just necessary until we get easy birth control available to everyone.

Or even better, reversibly sterilize everybody until they want to have kids - then make them pass a goddamn test.

I'd be for that. It's just that with any eugenics program I can envision to make the human race better, I wouldn't exist/be allowed to procreate.
 
Abortion is a horror, but so is telling a raped 10 year old that she must deliver that baby even if it has a good probability to kill her.

And so is asking a couple to keep an anencephalic fetus to term. Hint: it actually has an alien head with an opening at the top, and literally no brain, is not viable, and never was. Asking some parents to wait another few months and go through a birth (with all the risks of complication it entails) just to be handed a dead horror is... not very funny.

I do understand that in some cases it may well be necessary, and that nature does it too, but as a form of contraception it is 'horrific'.

Admittedly I may be seeing this through emotionally tinted glasses...

ETA

I mean, I think animal slaughter is horrific too. But I eat meat which is conveniently packaged without a picture of the animal it came from.
Horrific can be delicious, but I try to have gratitude.
