Continuation Part Six: Discussion of the Amanda Knox/Raffaele Sollecito case

You know what I love about the turd theory? This case has been going on for years. There are internet sites and hundreds if thousands of posts about the case, and yet, I don't recall anyone ever suggesting that kercher was killed because Rudy left his turd on the toilet. Kudos to crini for thinking up something totally new and for proving that we'll never get bored.

<snip>Meredith might have seen it. Rudy might have left it in the toilet in the hallway bathroom - the one Meredith and Amanda use. The turd might have moved. It might have been transported - perhaps in Amanda's purse. Yea, that's it. It moved from that bathroom to the other bathroom, the one that the Italian women share - where it was finally found.<snip>

This caused me to erupt in spontaneous outright laughter.

It may have been the Satanic turd theory that Mignini.... oh never mind, Grinder will ask for a citation.

Well add up all the wrong things about this case...those obvious, blatant, moronisms of fact-less innuendo and a zero sum of evidence against the two innocents and yet...YET... this defense (who are lovely men and women certainly) are far and beyond their experience depth since they still cant seem to be able to win this lame azed case!

That makes them a lame defense and if they don't bat one out of the ball park next month these two are back to square one. No...maybe even more jail time! They are lame. The proof is in the pudding. Simple actually. Lovely people yes...I would use Carlo as my dresser, I want the Perugia grey hair dude to be my father. But I wouldn't want either to represent me for anything in an Italian court room.

Its just the sad truth. You cant swim with the sharks unless you get into the water with them.

Have you read this, Randy?

Could this have been avoided if the NTSB had better engineers?

OneNews-
clip>Crini departed from past scenarios by suggesting the crime was not so much sexually fuelled - an erotic game that got out of control, as the lower court prosecutor described it - but an act of physical violence with a sexual expression.

He alleged that Knox and Sollecito acted in concert with another man in an explosion of violence sparked by tension between Knox and British student Meredith Kercher.

Crini argued that Rudy Guede - a native of Ivory Coast now serving a 16-year sentence for the murder - may have inflamed tensions between Knox and Kercher after he defecated in a toilet inside the women's apartment and didn't flush. <end

How many motives can the prosecution display in front of judges before someone stops this madness?

I wonder if Crini even thought hard enough that the toilet Rudy was on wasn't the toilet near Merediths room?

This Italian court case is looking like a <enter any sarcastic remark>

Is Crini making fun of Mignini ? Maybe throwing the towel in ? OF course Barbie and the true PGP PR machine are down playing this crap. They stay focused on the confirmation that Knox's DNA was confirmed on the handle again. As if that's damning and forget that the Steffanoni's test was proved to be a joke. They act as if Merideth's DNA is still in play.

Deeply troubling. I take your point that Egypt was not -- no way, no how -- going to ever accept what the plain evidence said, no matter who was doing the investigation. What I wonder is how much the heavy footprint of the USA on so many countries is to blame for what happened there, and for what is happening now to Amanda Knox.

Can we (she) ever be allowed to "win?" Or does the resentment/need to retaliate for perceived slights make that impossible? The PR Supertanker mythology is grounded in something -- not the imagined wealthy controllers of opinion, but more likely the suspicion that the USA is always trying to push other countries around and getting away with it.

I wonder if Crini thought this up while taking a crap.

The same question has crossed my mind, GreyFox. They've decided to lose the case but instead of conceding they don't have evidence, they come up with something even more ridiculous than the first four theories.

If only Amanda were there to testify, they could trap her like they do on crime shows -- bring someone into the courtroom to sit on a terlit and see if Amanda flies into a murderous rage.

I think that is exactly right. I have gotten some pushback for bringing politics into this thread, but this case is very much a political issue for Italians. Amanda is picking up the tab for the cable car disaster, CIA renditions and a host of other US sins.

This may well be so, payback for USA, but it is deeply puzzling that there is a substantial American faction of PGP.

They have different motivations -- just as full of bile and self-righteousness, but aimed at a different target. I'm not them, so I don't really understand, but there seems to be an overpowering contempt for youth, female sexuality, and anything outside a certain set of norms, which they feel qualified to define and enforce.

Like a number of posters here, I live in Seattle, so I can testify that the Amanda Knox who can be known through her various writings and interviews is as ordinary as mashed potatoes. Why someone like Peggy Ganong has chosen her as an object of hatred has to do with Peggy and only Peggy. I expect that's the case for most of them . . . she (and Raffaele to a lesser extent) bring out this unbelievably vile stuff in certain people. They're sort of like human epsom salts, able to draw out poison.

While this may be true, a more important factor IMO is that there is a section of the population who will instinctively side with the powerful against the weak, and in particular will assume that accusations are never made without justification and that police and courts don't make mistakes (except, in their world view, in the defendants' favour).

It's known as being "tough on crime".

ETA: Actually I've just had a thought that the above often doesn't apply in rape cases, so maybe you have a point about hatred of youth and female sexuality.

I wonder what the proportion is. At first, the PGP pushed a strong agenda of erudite European sensibilities vs. crass American sensibilities. Quennell is from New Zealand, I think; Michael a/k/a Fulcanelli is in Great Britain, and Peggy lived in Paris for 20 years. Many of the "leaders" at their blogs seem to live in or be from other countries. This is one reason they celebrate Barbie and Andrea -- both are American ex-pats living in Europe.

You mean, it might be parody?

Someone already compared Crini's performance to a Monty Python sketch.

It makes me, for one, feel like I've been taking crazy pills.

Wasn't it Napoleoni who came up with some self-righteous guff about how her Dad had taught her to "defend the weak against the powerful", and how this gave her the motivation to pursue and arrest Raffaele and Amanda?
