Almost all the comments are that stupid. It looks like some MRA blog or another was linked to the article.
Elam is the head of AVFM, who actually predicted, when he blogged about his interview, that they'd spin it to make him look like the bad guy. And lo and behold, they have. The next comment down, sorted by popularity, involves someone pointing out that 20/20 straight-up lied, or is completely incompetent. And
since they actively refused to talk to women from AVFM, I'm going with the former.
Also, Elam himself (and other feminist critics, women included) has gotten death threats and hate mail. Heck, feminists have
broken the law several times recently IRL to try and prevent discussions of men's issues.
There's no evidence that the harassment of Sarkeesian came from MRAs or "the manosphere". In fact, Anita herself says it comes from gamers in general, and there's rumors that it mostly came from 4chan. Noticably, Anita has presented a rather biased account of the reaction to her; it's either support or blind, unquestioning, misogynist hatred. The more substantial criticism of her methodology, logic, and evidence has never even been
acknowledged. I've seen more logical and egalitarian content on TVTropes. Heck, she once said that the Straw Feminist trope was created to discredit real feminists, and then pointed to an example
created by another feminist to address how some women use feminism as an excuse for their own gynocentric sexism.
The article is
laughably biased, as the comments point out. I have a lot of issues with AVFM and Elam myself, but this nonsense is a joke. I've seen Daily Mail articles more objective than this. You'd think they'd at least mention that the SPLC used to receive significant donations from the now-defunct Radfem Hub, which doesn't speak well for their objectivity.

That said, the comments just turned into a slapfight between a few rather driven feminists, and people who care about men's issues. Which is not the same as MRAs. In fact, that latter group includes many feminists, and non-MRA people in said group were responsible for several of those aforementioned silenced talks.
