Weiner's Back

I wouldn't vote for David Vitter, but he stood for reelection after his scandal broke and was duly reelected. Anthony Weiner is doing the same thing- asking the voters for a second chance. The major difference that I can see is that it looks like NYC voters might have more sense than Louisiana voters.

Vitter didn't bother resigning either. Republicans really don't care about this, see Mark Sanford.

Only if Weiner was a "family values" type of candidate. I don't get why the Republicans are all up in arms over Weiner, but didn't say anything about Sanford's return. Oh, I know know why. It's ok if you're a Republican... to break any law or moral standards.

I thought they were both idiots; IIRC I said so in one of the first posts on this thread. But at least so far, the argument seems to be that Sanford found another woman whom he fell in love with; Weiner appears to be just a horndog looking for a quick lay. I'm not inclined to forgive either but if forced to choose, I'd pick Sanford.

You know... at first I was a bit angry.... angry that people would kind of defend this guy.... but man this is just to awesome. I kind of hope this loser wins and becomes mayor of NY.

As might be imagined, NPR's Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me finds Weiner to be fertile ground...

Yesterday Peter Segal asked why they didn't just take his cell phone away, and someone else said that an obsession like that wouldn't be deterred by the lack of a cell phone...
To which Paula Poundstone replied... "Well, it might save the Post Office...."

Oh man, they showed the dude's unblurred pecker on the dirty.com today...... what a dummy.... sooo funny.

Well there is one thing he's not lying about......he's Jewish.

In other news Weiner's campaign manager quit, Huma is being investigated by Congress for working for both the government and a private consulting firm at the same time and Anthony is being blasted for spending $45k in campaign funds to investigate who "hacked" his Twitter account in 2011.

Bloomberg's multiple re-elections give lie to that thought.

"Yeah, we have this ass clown who can't behave like a grownup. We couldn't find anyone else."

Appalling sexual judgment does not seem to preclude being a decent public servant. On balance I think we did pretty well under Clinton. Petraeus was highly regarded. Smart men, stupid choices (compulsions?). However I don't think Wiener was that high caliber to begin with.

Too rich for words: Weiner spent $45,000 investigating the "hacker" who sent the pix:

Serial sexter Anthony Weiner paid a private eye nearly $45,000 in campaign cash to investigate his lie that a hacker posted a crotch shot on his Twitter feed, campaign spending records show.

Weiner's campaign manager has quit. Always a good sign. Weiner's going to stick it out anyway.
