What happened to all of the horses running away at the sight of Patty?

How does a true story just abandon it's original account?

If Patty stunk so bad, and the wind was such that Roger could smell it well, how did the horses not react well before coming into sight of Patty?

My guess is that true believers would tell you that Roger probably lied about everything except the part about the monkey walking in front of his camera.

When someone in Bigfootery presents a wild claim, the first thing I like to do nowadays is check to see if they have any history of hoaxing.

This is worth discussing in the big picture. There may only be a handful of individuals who everyone (Bigfoot believers, Bigfoot skeptics and the rest of the world) fully agrees are/were hoaxers.

It's pretty much a guaranteed fact that Bigfoot hoaxers do not confess. So it's almost worthless to proceed (as you say) with the idea that a history of hoaxing can be useful in evaluating new claims.

I'd say that more than 99% of Bigfoot hoaxers are not universally identified as such by the Bigfooter community.

It might be too many to list. It goes all the way from Dyer to Ketchum to BFF's ex-chief admin. I'm considering creating some sort of list though at some point of who they are and what hoax they've committed. Perhaps a website. It's worth mentioning though that a few folks like Freeman and Dyer have confessed on TV, but people still believe them.

I believe there needs to be solid evidence of a hoax before labeling anyone. Claiming to have been kidnapped by Bigfoot might not be enough, but something like habituation with woodapes coming over for tea parties certainly is.

Oh my. I guess your logic is that Bigfoot does exist and by golly it might kidnap a person. Continuing the logic would suggest that many others have been kidnapped by Bigfoot but never told anybody about it.

I know you won't put it in the "hoax" column, but, will you consider a second one for stuff like Roger the dodger's monster movie? You could label the category- "Pretty suss".

Yeah, "there were only two people there THAT DAY." Refering to October 20th. He would be telling the truth regardless of the authenticity of the films subject. It is fairly well known by those who have studied this film and its circumstances that the film was most likely shot previous to their claimed date. (for many reasons) Gimlin is very careful about what he says publicly.
