Looking for Skeptics

You should have a look at my professional resume (CV for the Brits)! And what I got paid while in the US. And presentations at national conferences on new technology. But no side-shots while we wait with an..tic....ipa...tion.
I really don't know why the heck you'd think a CV and pay grade rule you out from having woo traits.

We have just left Flaccons, no surprises, we will give a detailed report later this evening.

I hope this doesn't mean you were subjected to two hours of listening to stray radio broadcasts heavily interspersed with static. ;)

I am looking forward to your firsthand views--we all appreciate the trouble you've gone to regarding these vague claims.

Alderbank,

Thanks, for doing this. I hope it was an interesting experience, at least in the study of human nature.

A simple potentiometer across the speaker connections could easily reduce the level to line level and give a far better recording than trying to mic the speakers.

That would also reduce the noise coming out of the drivers, though, wouldn't it?

No, a 10K pot across an 8 Ohm speaker would not make any discernible difference. And the output would contain the same information, just reduced in voltage. A small amount of additional noise would also be added, but using a mic would be far worse in that respect.

I wouldn't have mentioned anything, but I simply didn't approve your candidature as an expert witness.

It's just that I've seen enough evidence that you may be part skeptic, but that part is diluted beyond homeopathic levels.

Cool, although I suspect that the point is moot.

The posters here are paying you a HUGE compliment by giving so much credence to your claims that they are prepared to help you find a way of demonstrating them scientifically, i.e. in a way that anyone other than your close friends and family will find convincing. We could have just dismissed your claims as pareidolia but no, we thought "there's a chance she could be right, let's help her find out for sure". We have spent hours of our own time helping you to try to find a way to do that, teasing out exactly what your claim is, coming up with protocols, adjusting those protocols to accomodate your every whim, and this is your response? To tell us that we're making you and yours feel sick, and kick us in the teeth?
Absolutely true. These types of threads have a tendency to degrade quite rapidly with the claimant going off in a huff. That hasn't happened here. I think the skeptics here get a great big "ATTA BOY AND GIRL". This is JREF at its best.

Should I just watch this thread from the side-lines and not “muddy the waters”?
Absolutely yes.

Should my test application be a separate thread? I would add that I am not going to make a formal application, but I do have a procedure thought out.
Yes, a separate thread. Since you are not applying (yet) for the $mil, start a thread in the General Skepticism .... subforum.

I had no idea you we're expecting a "white noise" sound. It was nice to meet you and your nephew and thank u. As Tuesday is a busy day, your phone call was unexpected. I did not know if there was a protocol in place at all? I hear Skype failed also? I hope you arrived home safely (I found a £2 coin by where your nephew was standing, has he lost £2 at all?)

Care to share your thoughts on the evening?
