Merged Sylvia Browne: "You'll meet her (Amanda Berry) in heaven" / Sylvia Browne wrong again

In related news, the Stop Sylvia site had so much traffic yesterday that a ""too much traffic - try again later" message was shown to visitors off and on throughout the day.

...and I received more SSB email yesterday than I have in the entire past year or more.

Another bit of fun: if you go to commons.wikimedia.org (an image repository used by wikipedia), and you search for Sylvia Browne, the first image you get is of....

I see...dark days ahead for Sylvia Browne...I see lying..despair..grifting, and exploitation.

No...wait, that is what Sylvia does every day....

I can't wait to see how this charlatan spins this....

Nice to see Sylvia Brown's record remains perfect (at ZERO), another gross failure for someone who claims to get their "insight" from God (via her spirit guide).

I didn't see this article posted anywhere here in this forum, if it is a dupe, sorry.

No, not the article, but the subject. I'm not trying to be nitpicky, but shouldn't all articles related to the topic of Amanda Berry and Sylvia Browne be posted it one thread? It makes it much easier to follow the developments.

(I see one thread...a man with a beard...brown...orange...a red frowny face...some lettering....

A-HA! Sylvia Browne is at KFC! Betcha.)

That Braying woman doesn't deserve a separate thread. Just read around what doesn't interest you.

She has a separate thread, too. It's in the General Scepticism subforum. So if you're interested in that aspect, you need to follow two threads.

Rolfe.

Someone told me her Facebook account is gone? Can someone confrim this for me? There are several people claiming to her on FB, but I can't find any site that is actually her.

I predict that Sylvia Browne will not be affected by any publicity this blunder will produce, and that the gullible public will give her a pass and keep on believing in her.

So it is written, so it shall be done....

Besides, she said the suspect was 21-22 years old, 10 years ago . The three arrested are all in their fifties.

Add in the fact that SHE SAID AMANDA BERRY WAS DEAD!

Forget all this vague and subjective "partial hit" crap. There is a very clear and significant objective parameter: alive or dead.

She had a 50/50 shot, and she still got it wrong. Massively.

Fail. Complete and utter fail.

I'll worry about considering "partial" hits when she gets something obvious right.

And I reiterate, it's not like we are talking some esoteric detail here. It is the whole bloody thing, is she alive or dead? Without that, nothing else matters.

She'll say, "Why are people trying to spoil this joyous occasion with their negativity." She'll play up the part about him being "Cuban looking" and ignore everything else.

And the second image is Lancaster and James Randi, and the third is Randi.. :D

In the end, Amanda's mother felt she was dead. If there is a heaven, I hope Louawn knows her daughter is safe at last
If there is a heaven, then when Louwanna Berry got there she got her heart broken yet again, since Sylvia Browne basically promised her that she'd see her daughter again on "the other side". I imagine it would be pretty hard to celebrate when your long-lost daughter was stolen from you again. Theoretically, Louwanna Berry wouldn't know that her daughter was safe, but only that she was alive. It wouldn't be hard to imagine what kind of misery and abuse her daughter was suffering if she hadn't been seen or heard from in years. I imagine that she'd be even more heartbroken when she heard this news.

Of course, I don't really believe that there's a heaven. If there were, and it were anything like the general conception that people have of heaven, this kind of thing wouldn't happen in the first place.

GOOD. There really isn't enough flak in the world to pay Sylvia Browne back for the way she deceives and preys on some of society's most vulnerable people at their worst moments.

I really can't blame Sylvia Browne's victims for falling for her pap. There's so much ignorance about how these scams work and so many people who insist that psychic powers are real that it's really hard for people to know who to believe in, and to be able to discern what's real and what's not. Keep in mind that this is a world where people still get badly mis-spelled emails from the children of Nigerian royalty who just need a few thousand dollars to get the family fortune out of storage, and some of those people are still falling for it even now, in 2013.

I have a pretty hard time blaming people for their own stupidity. Stupid people are among the most vulnerable people in our society and make very good victims.

Robert, any chance your hosting service would boost your traffic allowance if a few $ were thrown their way? If so, I think you may have many donors here who would help if that's a financial difficulty for you. I hate to have prospective fans be turned away -- they may not return.
