Merged Sylvia Browne: "You'll meet her (Amanda Berry) in heaven" / Sylvia Browne wrong again

Mike, there is a member round here who likes to report people for posts like that as "death threats" and demands they should be banned. Last one, the poster merely wondered if it was possible to take out a contract on someone.

Just warning. I don't know where the boundaries are.

Rolfe.

So noted. Thanks.
Since she's never directly effected me, my family or friends, and since I don't own a gun, I'll not be shooting her anyway. Now, if someone who she did have a direct negative effect on does go and pop a cap in her misshapen coconut, can I collect the million dollars for calling it?

Good evening.
That was a good job by ABC news. I hope they do a TV special on it. Actually, I hope Anderson Cooper does a follow up from Shawn Hornbeck case and can get SB 's pr lady and Randi back on to discuss this.

I was discussing this on facebook with a friend, and suddenly received from another friend a very out of left field view on all this I'm not sure how to approach or reply to other than dismissing it as jaded and selfish thinking.

Basically, a friend of mine is claiming that Brown should be free to her heart's content to do this and that the victim's deserve what they get for being so "stupid" as to fall for it and we're bad for, well, I'm not quite sure what he thinks we're bad for. He is a master of covert aggressive argument and almost is helpless without it.

Now I'm not trying to say we should outlaw people from believing and spreading woo, but I do say we should be fighting to expose these people and promote healthy skepticism and primitive (lol I mean critical) thinking in our society, and people like Brown should be publicly exposed at every opportunity given.

I guess I just needed to vent in a place where people understand, and without his covert aggressive personal jabs.

Honesty, she should be shot. Shot right square in the forehead at point blank range by someone whose life was ruined by her running her big fat attention whoring mouth. Then the shooter can ask afterward, "Well, why didn't she see THAT coming?", then burst into maniacal laughter or something. That'd be a quality end to her story right there.

I'm operating strictly on emotion here but I agree with Mike. She probably did help cause Amanda's mother to die of a broken heart. Sounds like murder to me!

Ok, now that I've said that, I do hope SB burns in the hell she spews about. I hope her spirit guide, Francine, turns on her and rips her up like yesterday's newspaper. I know there is nothing that can be done about SB legally, but she should suffer the verbal abuse and ridicule she so richly deserves.

You are 100% right. Never let irrational thought stand except when it is thoroughly harmless. I don't believe Sylvia Browne and her ilk are harmless; at the minimum they steal our time.

Nasty, horrible, slimy bitch who deserves to rot in the hell she believes in! Maybe she should scratch her eyes out and rip her tongue out with those beastly claws of her.

Yeah, her FB page is gone. All I could find was her page cached from last Friday. She might be forced to take her own website down. Wouldn't that be a shame?!

Even Swedish Dagens Nyheter has it on their first page, with an article that mentions the failure, and ends with

DN said:

Google translate/my fixes:

Visiting a medium is exposing oneself to mental hazards. To trust them is to surrender oneself into another person's hands. To believe that you ever will get an apology when predictions and sights are shown to be mistakes and smoke screens is hardly something that one should expect.

And sometimes it can be about life and death.

(the last sentence refers to the mother dying - possibly of a "broken heart").

I do understand the despair and desperation and how it can drive you to do things you never imagined you'd do. I had 2 moments when I thought a psychic could help me. One involved calling SB because I HAD to know the answer. Cooler, saner heads prevailed and about 1 minute later, we moved on to something more important, whatever that was. I went to a fortune teller at a ren fest just for fun, cured me of that type of thing.

We should take responsibility for our actions, I demand that of myself, I hope to see it others around me. Asking SB who you're going to marry? Really? That's the most important question in your life? and you're going to the take the word of someone who's seen you exactly 10 seconds? Amazing.

I sorta, kinda, shoulda understand a distraught parent, at lose ends, having exhausted all other souces, may in their grief, ask SB about their daughter. In the end, Amanda's mother felt she was dead. If there is a heaven, I hope Louawn knows her daughter is safe at last

In related news, the Stop Sylvia site had so much traffic yesterday that a ""too much traffic - try again later" message was shown to visitors off and on throughout the day.

I wonder if she could be charged with Murder by Mind **** ? Heck, it'd be worth a try!

...and I received more SSB email yesterday than I have in the entire past year or more.

You're like a Rock Star, dude! ;)

Sylvia Browne tells Amanda Berry's parents that she is dead

Amanda Berry is dead, psychic tells her mother on Montel Williams' show (republished)

For 19 months, Louwana Miller refused to give up hope that her missing daughter might still be alive.

Not anymore.

Desperate for any clue as to Amanda Berry’s whereabouts, and tired of unanswered questions from authorities, Miller turned to a psychic on Montel Williams’ nationally syndicated television show.
The psychic said what the FBI, police and Miller hadn’t.
“She’s not alive, honey,” Sylvia Browne told her matter-of-factly. “Your daughter’s not the kind who wouldn’t call.”

With those blunt words, Browne persuaded Miller to accept a grim probability that has become more likely with each passing day.

Miller went back to the West Side home where she had been keeping Amanda’s things in careful order and cleaned up. She gave away her daughter’s computer and took down her pictures. “I’m not even buying my baby a Christmas present this year,” she said.
Miller said she returned devastated from the show, taped this month in New York.
“I lost it,” she said...
