Continuation Part 5: Discussion of the Amanda Knox/Raffaele Sollecito case

And somehow got into the live zone at 06:02 while their were sleeping?

Just this week I had texts with the guy I work for and he had one of those with just a question mark. The reason was that my previous text was delayed and he didn't see it before his question mark text.

I sat with my SO when a text showed up on her phone that had been sent hours earlier.

With the vagaries of the systems and the variables involved with the physical transmissions; clouds, temperature, other waves in the air, it doesn't seem significant.

Now let's say they are guilty, why wouldn't he say that he rolled over a 6 am and looked at his phone for the time or thought it beeped an incoming message? Didn't the computer show use around the same time? There was and is nothing incriminating about the early morning use in and of itself. Why would they lie about it?

She indicates that Knox and Sollecito changed stories and that their alibis were not congruent without giving specifics.

Left as an exercise. :)

Or you mean that they did not change stories and that their alibis were congruent?

They know the reason why.

But I think they are not telling the truth. They say they were sleeping.

The computer use was before that, so the "roll over" explanation hardly works.

As for deleting messages, I have a phone (from 2001) with a 10 message limit.
I really have to be selective. :-)

Cell phones didn't exist in 2001 :p .

Seriously, I had a 8130 and a 6590 from the same era and don't remember texts being an issue with memory but I probably did clean them out.

I'm pretty sure we would have heard about a ten text limit.

Buy a Nokia 6590 and you'll be happier.

If you had been paying attention you would know that there is evidence on Raffaele's computer that shows he was up creating a play list just prior to that time. The screensaver logs indicate that he was up all through the night and didn't finally go to sleep until after 06:00 the next morning.

It was never mentioned by either side.
Just think of the mop and you see how hotly debated issue it would have been.

What did the defense have to mention? Raffaele's defense requested the tapes and were told that they had been erased.

Why didn't they tell the truth about getting up for a little while hours after Meredith was killed?

Why would they lie about the time in the morning when Amanda knew she had been seen by several people in the store and perhaps on the street and captured by god knows how many CCTV along the way?

If they stood in the plaza for hours with people coming and going and an old man staring at them, why didn't they work that into their narrative?

I slept in until, well slept in isn't correct, 5:30 this morning but got up once, I think, with the dog or was that the night before? It was the nightb before, he was digging at the carpet in another room.

Now if I had murdered someone at 9:30 the night before why would I lie about getting up at 3 am especially if I accessed my computer or phone?

I have always thought the fact that they didn't have matching stories pointed to the fact that they hadn't created matching stories. If they had said exactly the same things and exactly the same times the PGP would point to it as proof they made up an alibi.

Barbie is a college dropout, former travel and restaurant reviewer turned investigative reporter by this case.

Re: Barbie Nadeau CNN and Andrea Vogt BBC

When is Barbie going to come clean and tell us who was in the cottage the morning of November 14, 2007 when she photographed that cottage with the front door wide open and the corner of the security seal pealed down? Is this the leverage she used to gain inside access to the prosecution?

Well, from the horse's mouth, i.e. Amanda's book, we know now that they were making love and then fell asleep. Keeping a screensaver off is an extremely refined way of making love or sleeping.
No talk of dawn music, either.

???
They did have the tapes with which they refuted the postal police arrival time argument.

Offering an out of interest alibi would just emphasize your lack of alibi in the period of interest. That's why you shouldn't have to provide it.

We don't know at what time Amanda went out on the next morning.
There is just her version, Raffaele's version and Quintavalle's claim.

I think she did go out at some time, because Raffaele's semi-jealous remark in his diary seems to me genuine.
But when was it, how long was it, and where she was is full of problems.

I fear there's going to be another round of "picking at the edges" of this case with bolint.

Quintaville - who actually said the woman he saw didn't buy anything - car-park videos with misaligned timestamps, whether or not Nadeau or Dempsey is the real crime writer here.

The frustration I have is that 5 1/2 years after the horrible crime committed against the only innocent all of us can agree is the true innocent here, no one who "picks around the edges" like this about alleged involvement of Sollecito and Knox....

... can put together a comprehensive timeline of the crime which exlains the known evidence.

There is:

1) no motive for Knox and Sollectito to have been involved
2) no mixed blood in the cottage
3) no psychopathology found ever in either S or K
4) no bad relationship ever between Knox and Kercher
5) no forensic presence at all ever found in the murder room belonging to Amanda Knox

And so far, these are just the facts as found at the convicting trial in Dec 2009.

Are we going to have another round of who is the better investigative reporter while ignoring these?

This is what I mean - there has been no one in 5 1/2 years who assumes guilt for K and S who can put this together; except for picking away around the edges about security cameras with misaligned timestamps and the like.

If you want to take this one at a time, fine. Explain how someone removes their own forensic DNA profile from a murder room, while leaving another one fully intact?

dates and figs

Each had two basic stories: what they said on 5-6 November, and what they said before and after. Barbie's choice of words was an..um..exaggeration. Barbie once quoted someone else who said that Rudy's story never changed, and Barbie said nary a peep. That alone discredits her as a judge of whether or not there were changing stories IMO. If Barbie were here, I would ask her for some specifics with respect to their accounts of 1 November so that I could judge for myself whether any alleged discrepancies were serious or of no concern. The way she phrased it was a cheap shot: it sounds like they are lying, but for we know she could have had in mind something like the time of start of their meal, which I don't see as being important.

Hollywood moment: A black-and-white film I saw one time had a scene where the cops said that the man's wife contradicted his alibi for the evening of the crime. The reporter who was looking into it found out that she said they were pressing dates, and he said they were pressing figs (I might have the figs and dates mixed up). Anyone who can name the film wins a virtual yacht.

(...lamentation cut ...)

I don't think they participated in the actual murder. Raffaele most likely was not even there at that time.
The prosecution's theory is wrong, no wonder they could not prove it.
