I read that a witness to the gunfight said that one of them threw what looked like a pressure cooker bomb. I think that was on the NYT.

Is that MM? I checked the name after L.Y.S. posted it, but the first page of hits were blogs so I passed on looking into it.
FOX is pushing the foreign nationals angle. Surprise.
I really wish they could all cut out the heavy speculation.

Yes, I have, but I don't have the link any more. She seemed rather annoyed that the news had got out so quickly and was now being harassed by various people.
Did they lose his track? I have to doubt that. Unless he did a James Bond type thing and put on a fake nose and new clothes.
I don't know much about US law enforcement.... but I do watch The Following... and if law enforcement is anything like they are on that show... there is now way they are going to get away.

I really feel for that family now. Firstly losing a son, then finding that he is apparently alive and a terrorist and then finding that actually, maybe not, maybe he is still missing.

They have not found the black mercedes suv. If anyone could james bond the situation it would have been the guy who's suv it was, he should have tried to drop his cellphone somewhere in the seat so they could trace it. But since they drove him around for like a half hour telling him stuff like "We just killed a cop" and "We're the marathon bombers" the poor bastard was probably just in complete shock and maybe still is.

I agree. I just hate that they all are so invested in this... "get it first, make corrections second" philosophy of reporting.
Which leads me to...
This is why I don't take my breaking news reporting from blogs and tweets.
The Post got spanked yesterday, CNN just prior to that (they've been quite gun-shy the last 4-5 hours) and now what could be one or two innocent names bandied about. Lives are crushed over lesser mistakes.
