Explosion at the Boston Marathon.

MSNBC & CNN say it is unknown if this & bombing are connected.

You would have a much larger federal presence if it were related to the marathon attack, I think. Someone on CNN mentioned seeing only three people with FBI jackets. At this point I'd think it's not related to the marathon bombing.

One witness reported a robot was working to disarm explosives "in the middle of the street" at some unspecified location. No photo or video confirmation.

NZ News is reporting that a witness to the shoot-out between two suspects in the MIT shooting told the New York Times that one of the suspects "threw" a device that looked like a pressure cooker, at the Police. The witness aid there were explosions and a lot of gunfire.

I'm not conducting any experiments. I am, however, forming a new hypothesis.

I think maybe that stick broke off. You may require surgery at this point.

That was my opinion earlier. I stopped bothering. I like Checkmite but I think that he is wrong here with his truther comparison. The FBI asked that we (and I mean the collective we) look at only those images and contact them if there were any correlations to be made. They knew that they would be getting a lot of FUD when they did that, it's to be expected. I made a possible correlation and got yelled at by him and compared to a truther. I said screw it and left the topic. I don't need the hassle, I have better things to do.

The way that BBC Radio 5 live is reporting it....

The MIT shootings are likely unrelated to the marathon bombings. The suspect (or suspects) was in the middle of a robbery and fled. Shots exchanged at MIT and policeman killed.

The suspect (or suspects) then drove to Waterton with more shots exchanged. There are reports of grenades, possibly stun grenades.

A suspect is reportedly in custody.

it was five live that reported boston globe claims too.

For the fifth time, that is incorrect. The FBI showed focused images of two specific men and asked if anyone recognized them; that's it.

MSNBC is talking to a witness over the phone who says he say the two suspects throw what looked like a pressure cooker at the police. He also said there's a bomb robot on the scene searching a car.

ETA: He also said a bullet entered his house and hit a wall.

From NY Times:

Two young men, armed with guns and explosives in what appeared to be backpacks, engaged in a violent standoff with dozens of police on a street in Watertown, Mass., Thursday night, a resident said.

Andrew Kitzenburg, 29, said he looked out of this third floor window to see two young men of slight build in jackets shooting at dozens of police officers from behind a black Mercedes SUV. The officers and the men were 70 yards apart, he said, and engaged in “constant gunfire.”

A police SUV “drove towards the shooters,” he said, and was shot at until it was severely damaged. It rolled out of control, Mr. Kitzenberg said, and crashed into two cars in his driveway.
