Other descriptions have the bomb placer in a dark jacket over a grey hoodie with a backwards-turned white baseball cap.

Anyway, the strangest thing would be for the bomber(s) to stand in full view of so many cameras for so long. I would expect them to want slide in and out with little lingering and face time.

Those two guys in your photo didn't give any damn about being watched and photographed.

The 4chan page reminds me of the sort of thing truthers got up to post-9/11 with their crazy photo analysis skillz...

I agree, but I missed thousands of posts that led to their interest in them. Plus, the guy isn't wearing his white hat backwards, and in other pictures he has his sunglasses on top of his hat. One would think a terrorist would have his sunglasses on to help disguise his face.

Especially that from the get go, it seems they looked only at a specific patern. On the picture page I saw posted the following were point of suspicion (SIC) "1) brown 2) alone".
It tells a lot more on mentality and prejudice than real analysis skills.

The news media reports "grey hoodie with a backwards-turned white baseball cap" and that is suddenly a "fact" among all the other "facts" that weren't?

As for not caring about being photographed, there's no way to be there without being photographed. Avoiding cameras would be suspicious.

Not to mention someone could turn a hat around if one was bending over to do something on the ground. In that position the bill would be in your way.

In the photo, the convincing points that I see are the multiple matches to the bag shreds and bending over the bag on the ground right where the burn mark is seen later and the killed child is in the picture. There is another image where the guy with the white hat and black jacket no longer has the backpack. These two guys seem to me to have the most evidence in the images: black jacket white cap and the guy dressed in blue that is with him and has the duffle bag over his shoulder. The third guy with the black jacket and backpack is seen with one of these two in the images. They are standing next to each other talking on phones. The sun glasses are on sometimes and on the cap in some images.

I don't put a lot of stock in the fact certain people are not looking in the same direction as the other spectators.


The bag the guy is carrying who doesn't look involved to me doesn't seem very heavy.

There are a number of people identified who probably are not involved. I agree lots of stuff on that IMGUR site shouldn't be there.

It will be hard to prove what I just saw, since web page ads are so dynamic and tailored to the viewer, but on a news page about the bombings, the sidebar ads were for backpacks and carrying cases. Probably served up by a routine that scans the text for words to feed into the ad server. A little shocking to see and it shows how stupid and mindless computers are.
 
Well The Daily Show and Colbert did not disappoint in raking CNN over the coals.

I've seen outdoor rated cable, coax and UTP, is various colours. Dull concrete grey is pretty common.

How silly. Two 4" malleable iron threaded pipe caps and a 18" threaded section of 4" iron standpipe and you have all you need. For that matter, you can do the same with wood. (Unabomber did.)
