Explosion at the Boston Marathon.

Good afternoon
CNN is now reporting"substantial progress has been made " in the bombing and says " this is significant "
Does anyone know when the next press conference is planned?
FBI Say they have no indication the suspicious letter in Washington are linked to the Boston bombings.
 
CNN is reporting that a suspect has been identified based on video from the Lord & Taylor store. That may be the camera everyone has been talking about.

Interesting that no one has claimed responsibility, AFIK, and the usual suspects have disavowed (Taliban, etc.) the act. It could be the act of a political whacktard group, left or right (back when I was growing up it was the lefties doing this stuff), but I'm starting to wonder if it's some sociopath that just wanted to see if he or she could do it.

Next press conference is 5pm ET.
 
News conference at 5, everyone who predicted "white guy" has been wrong if the video is right and it looks like it's pretty clear, "dark skinned male" is seen leaving a black bag at the scene and leaving. The reporter claims the info is from a legit source involved in the investigation that the reporter talked to directly.

If I were going to drop a bomb in a public place full of cameras, I would use makeup to change my whiter-than-white pallid complexion without any doubt. And a wig not my color.

We'll see what pans out, there have been many too many simply false things asserted so far.

I would guess that if they are talking about a significant development... I would guess they have someone too.

OTOH, you don't have the mind of someone who would so such a thing, so it's hard to say how rational that mind is. . .

Also, identifying the suspect on a camera doesn't end with just that footage. This area was pretty well saturated with cameras, so I would think they could locate the guy on other cameras and maybe even see where he came from and where he went after leaving a bag.
