Continuation: Discussion of the George Zimmerman case

It seems reasonable to conclude that we don't have a full picture of the motivations behind Serino filing that paperwork, and whether those motivations were truly his honest opinion.

Given what he's said to FBI about pressure on him, etc.

When a LEO /detective signs his name to a formal request for arrest, then he damn well has to stand behind it.

He puts his name and HIS JOB on the line when he signs it, and it's all on him - and he knows it.

To imply any thing else is an accusation of detective Serino acting unethically.

With absolutely nothing to base that on.

Stop.

It's supposed to be about what the law says, and what the evidence indicates. Period.

Good. Remember that for later.

But there are provisions for not putting someone who quite clearly acted in self-defense through the financially crippling and extremely traumatic process of a trial when the evidence is deemed clear that it was self-defense by the police.

Unless you think every battered spouse should automatically face a murder trial no matter how convincing the evidence of long-standing abuse is, or every person who shot someone who broke into their house... even if that person was wielding a weapon themselves, etc?

Another good place to determine the merit of this case might have been the grand jury. Or Norm Wolfinger's office.

The fact that the police will largely be called as witnesses for the defense in this case, and that a prosecutor had to be brought in from another county to charge Zimmerman should tell you a LOT about what's going on here and how legitimate it is or is not.

Now Zimmerman is as innocent as a battered spouse.

He wasn't quietly filing paperwork, he handed the investigation over to the state. It was in the link I provided.
Did Serino prepare a Capias Request with a recommendation of manslaughter?

Yes or No.

One answer, and you know what that is.

This is relevant ... why ?

The petty criminal George has already broken two laws. It's possible he committed voter fraud too depending on the exact date that he moved.

When did George apply for his concealed weapon permit? Did he use a false address on that application?

There is just no getting around this fact.
The lead police investigator wanted to charge Zimmerman with manslaughter.
"I believe there exists probable cause for issuance of a capias charging George Michael Zimmerman with manslaughter."

“The encounter between George Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin was ultimately avoidable by Zimmerman, if Zimmerman had remained in his vehicle and waitied the arrival of law enforcement, or conversely if he had identified himself to Martin as a concerned citizen and initiated dialogue in an effort to dispel each party’s concern.”

That is not how our justice system works. Merely being accused of something does not and should not put you before a judge.

Likewise, being suspected of something does not and should not put you on the recieving end of the angst of an over-zealous, self-appointed neighborhood watch hero.

But if you think that GZ would have followed a blue-eyed blond in the same fashion, this conversation is useless, for you're too out there.

Had the blue-eyed blond worn the same attire, and behaved in the exact same manner as TM did, yes, GZ would have treated him with similar suspicion. The fact that TM's age, race, and sex were consistent with the age, race, and sex of those that had committed the actual burglaries (not just suspicious persons) in recent times should have played a part in GZ's suspicions.

And BTW, was the nice man that wants to drown black babies involved in that investigation you mentioned? And you don't think that TM's color had anything to do with the charges being suppressed?

No,he wasn't. Different city.

We know he did but your argument was that he wanted to. His words say something different. If you want to inject your own meaning behind his motive, that is your choice. He gave his reasons and short of mind reading skills, that's all we have to go on. According to the FBI investigation, he did not believe there was enough evidence so he filed the capius request and left it to the prosecutor's office to investigate.

Very true and if you have evidence that TM was on the receiving end of that angst and not the aggressor, I am sure the prosecution would appreciate that contribution.

I totally agree with this, he did not need at any point to cause the confrontation he did.

What sort of jail time is at stake with that suspicion? That's assuming you don't assault/attack this person for being suspicious of you, of course.

As far as the evidence is concerned (if you ignore GZ's statements), TM could just as easily have caused the confrontation.

You are begging the question.

We know he did file a capias. The contention - by Chris Serino - is that he did not want to and felt pressured. Perhaps that is why he felt it necessary to hire Baez to represent him.

How many burglaries had there been in George's community? Had the perpetrators all been caught or just the ones that were young black males?
