Continuation: Discussion of the George Zimmerman case

Yes, i think the conclusion from the Sanford PD's initial investigation, that there wasn't enough evidence to charge GZ with a crime, was the appropriate one.
Serino wanted to charge with murder/manslaughter/murder/manslaughter.

So you're wrong.

There was a huge dump of information yesterday, in the appendix to the Writ.

http://www.gzdocs.com/documents/0413/appendix.pdf

I'm just now plowing through it.

One thing unseen before that caught my eye right off - was GZ's license, in the first few minutes at the station, interview with Singleton.

She asked him about the address on his license: It's not the address he's living at.

It's his mommy & daddy's address.

Three years at the place and all neighborhood watchy and all - and he doesn't change his address?

Whaaaaaaaaa?

I'd bet on it. The real criminals here are Crump and the Martins. How dare they prosecute a guy just for shooting their kid?

That's just it, it's not supposed to be up to them to prosecute him. It's also not supposed to come down to how emotionally Angela Corey feels about his beautiful parents and how much she enjoys praying with them...

it's not supposed to be about showing that someone who shoots a black person will "face justice" or about anybody getting re-elected or about avoiding riots...

It's supposed to be about what the law says, and what the evidence indicates. Period.

Well that's a new one. It's not supposed to be a prosecutors job to prosecute.

Hmph.

I hilited the context so everyone could see your strawmen better.

This is relevant ... why ?

Serino wanted to charge with murder/manslaughter/murder/manslaughter.

So you're wrong.

On March 13, 2012, Chris Serino sent a capias request to the state's attorney recommending charges of negligent manslaughter against Zimmerman, though Serino maintains he did not believe they had the evidence to support those charges and that manslaughter was only included in the capias in order for the prosecutor's office to continue with their own investigation.[139][140][141][142

On July 12, interviews conducted by the FBI were publicly released. The Sanford Police Department's lead investigator, Chris Serino, told FBI agents that he believed Zimmerman's actions were not based on Martin's race, but instead on Martin's attire, the circumstances of the encounter, and previous burglaries in the neighborhood. Zimmerman's neighbors and co-workers were interviewed as well. Neighbors who knew Zimmerman had nothing derogatory to say about him and his co-workers were complimentary of him.[154]

Serino also told the FBI that he had felt pressure from three officers within the department to charge Zimmerman although he "did not believe he had enough evidence at the time to file charges", and accused one of these officers of being friendly with Martin's father. He also expressed concern to the FBI about possible leaks of evidence to the media from within the department.[155]

The investigators that do this sorta stuff for a living, that actually conducted all the interviews with GZ, that conducted and/or had direct knowledge and understanding of the ballistics and other forensic evidence, came to a conclusion, based on that entire body of evidence, that there wasn't enough evidence to convict. Does that mean nothing to you?

Serino wanted to charge with murder/manslaughter/murder/manslaughter.

No, it doesn't mean anything to me... If you kill someone you should at least have to explain yourself before a judge.

Specially in places where people are so fast to demonize a kid because he was reckless enough to be born of the wrong color.

How I personally feel about this case is irrelevant to this discussion. Any further personal comments about me will be reported.
Katie ... Maybe no need to ... Nothing special was said, the way I see it :shy:

That is not how our justice system works. Merely being accused of something does not and should not put you before a judge.

Both the police department and the FBI investigation found no evidence to suggest TM was targeted because of his color.

So don't make it part of the discussion again in the future.

So lets get back to the question you ignored - do you have any thought on why Crump and/or witness 8 may have lied about witness 8 age ?

I suspected he hadn't changed his vehicle registration when they redacted the address from the radio log. But most jurisdictions give you a grace period before you need to register the new address. What is the law in Florida?

LOL Ten days.

ABC is in on the conspiracy! How deep does this go???

Why is it you think ABC no longer has all of the interview audio, if that is in fact the case ?

Because the case was irrelevant and no longer in the news ? Because they ran out of room on their HDD ? ;)

Did Serino prepare a Capias Request?

Yes or No.

One answer, and you know what that is.

RT ... I saw some dude with your avatar elsewhere (different nickname though ... paper something or something like that))) ... when was surfing the net couple of days ago ... Is that you also ... or someone simply has the same avatar?

That's Mr. Crump's bare assertion. Certainly, if he has evidence of that meeting, he should provide it to the court.

http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/04/02/us-usa-florida-shooting-prosecutor-idUSBRE83116420120402

State Attorney Norm Wolfinger asked the U.S. Justice Department civil rights division to disregard a letter it received from lawyers for Martin's family which referred to reports that Wolfinger interfered in the police investigation.

The letter contained "outright lies," Wolfinger said.

"I am outraged by the outright lies contained in the letter by Benjamin Crump," Wolfinger said. "I encourage the Justice Department to investigate and document that no such meeting or communication occurred."

Yup, let's see the evidence that the meeting occurred...

He wasn't accused of killing. He killed. And I know your laws are insane in general, and when it comes to guns and gun violence in particular. That's why I stated that there is a good chance GZ will get away with it, despite all the lies and contradictions.

Both the police department and the FBI investigation found no evidence to suggest TM was targeted because of his color.

I actually meant the demonizing of TM by the likes of you lot. But if you think that GZ would have followed a blue-eyed blond in the same fashion, this conversation is useless, for you're too out there.

And BTW, was the nice man that wants to drown black babies involved in that investigation you mentioned? And you don't think that TM's color had anything to do with the charges being suppressed?
