March wants Stundie nominations

Here's a mass nomination, cross-posted from the thread on the DHS daring to buy bullets. Paul Joseph Watson should probably be the one to get up on the podium and accept the award, for being the one to bring all this together in order to highlight its stupidity and dishonesty, but his supporting cast of Idiot Congressfolk deserve just as much recognition.

Despite over a dozen members of Congress demanding an explanation as to why the agency has purchased enough ammunition to wage a 20 year-plus war, answers have not been forthcoming, with the only response arriving in the form of a glib statement made by a DHS official, Peggy Dixon, who blithely claimed that the bullets were bought in bulk to save money and that they were for training purposes only.

Kansas Congressman Timothy Huelscamp said earlier this week that threats should be made to withdraw funding from the DHS if it didn’t explain why it was purchasing so many bullets, remarking, “They have no answer for that question. They refuse to answer to answer that.”

- New Jersey Congressman Leonard Lance said last Friday that, “Congress has a responsibility to ask Secretary Napolitano as to exactly why these purchases have occurred,” signaling his intention to get answers.

- Californian Congressman Doug LaMalfa and 14 of his House colleagues have written a letter to the Department of Homeland Security asking if the purchases are, “being conducted in a manner that strategically denies the American people access to ammunition.

Despite numerous members of Congress making inquiries as to the reason behind the bullet buys, the mainstream and leftist media have attempted to ridicule the entire issue as a conspiracy theory, with Atlantic Wire even suggesting that the story had its origins in a debunked email, a report that completely failed to even mention the admitted fact that the DHS had purchased around 2 billion bullets.

Given that the DHS obviously thinks it can ignore sitting members of Congress, Infowars calls on Rand Paul to stage another filibuster or at least ask some hard questions and demand answers about why the agency is apparently trying to hide what seems to many observers to represent a domestic arms build-up in preparation for civil unrest.

That's just about a perfect example of "JAQing off", and then completely ignoring the answer, that was provided almost immediately.

And they wonder why we laugh at them.

Childlike Express comes up with a cracker.

Context:
Senenmut do you remember Jonathan Barnett, the EPA chief who first reported on eutectic steel? I've written to him several times in the past year, personally, about this phenomenon and he consistently says the corrosion on the steel was probably caused by one of three things: battery acid, burning of gypsum walls, or the residue from acid rain in fire. I asked specifically if he thought the eutectic steel mystery could be solved by thermite or CD and he said no there is no evidence for that. Whenever I personally go out and talk to the people who are quoted by 9/11, I ALWAYS get the same kind of response. I got another response from a chemist and we might have a lead for some independent answers re Millette vs Harrit/Jones. I also have experiments that I have requested, such as the burning of known paint chips on rust flakes to see if iron-rich spheres are created.

Stundie:
Sounds silly. He comes up with three theoretical explanations for a phenomenon and rejects a forth because there is no evidence for it? What kind of logic is that?

Wait, they're wondering why the Department of Homeland Security is buying ammunition?

Could it be for the same reason average Joe gun owner does?

My god, you mean average Joe gun owner is planning on executing every living American too?!?!?

Oh, wait, no, I mean, "Yeah, they're actually confused by this."

Did I miss the section of the constitution that says you must forcibly remove everyone from government?

A very funny Anti-Obama thread at ATS features the amusing rants of POXUSA who is certain that people at Columbia University would have to remember Obama because he was the president of the United States!

When I was at USC, I took a few classes administered by the jazz department. I later found out that a guy that was there at the same time, Graham Dechter, had gone on to make something of a name for himself as a jazz guitarist. I didn't remember him. Later, I actually saw him perform, learned a bit more about him and was able to narrow down a class that we almost certainly took together. Still didn't remember him. I do remember having a class with Carson Palmer, because I noticed at the time. I somehow think that's significant to this particular argument. Which, to read the rest of the source quote, makes me some kind of paid shill. I'll expect my check shortly.

Great point, as I think back I had plenty of college level classes where I'd be hard pressed to remember more than a handfull of my classmates. College ain't like high school, you mainly recall your study groups or folks in organizations you belonged to, especially in a larger university. If you were in a highly specialized major like I was (Astrophysics); you'd have a certain small group all in the same classes. A bigger major, no way.

The more time that goes by the less you remember.

I'm the same age as Obama and I went to a small college (3000-4000) and the Math/CS department was small. We had a study group of about 10-12 people and we were all in the same classes together and we socialized together. For the life of me I can't think of more than five names in the group. And those were the people I spent a lot of time with, but I haven't seen or heard from almost all of them in 25+ years. There's a semi-prominent local business man who's been done well for himself. About a year or two ago I found out he went to the same college I did and we where there at the same time. I did not remember him at all, I looked him up in the yearbook and sure enough, we graduated together.

Anyone who thinks that everyone should remember every person they went to college with 25 or 30 years later is delusional. But we knew that.
