That was a strange way for me to put it, wasn't it? What I meant was, when I wore a watch, I was always glancing at it for no particular reason. Now that I no longer wear a watch, I don't dig my phone out of my pocket or purse just to continue that rather pointless habit. AND if I were involved in a major disaster, I doubt that my first thought would be to grab for my phone just to check the time.

Odd, I know that in my university and college classes there were dozens in each classroom but for the life of me I cannot recall but a dozen, total. Of those I recall either first name, first and last name, or just a face. In the case of one guy all I recall is the nickname we gave him behind his back, and he was a lab partner of mine! In my electronics diploma course there was only one girl and I do not recall her name (though she was not in any of my classes.)

We have four distinct seasons around here, winter, potholes, construction/fishing**, hunting

** - one buys small cabin on a lake so one can go fishing within minutes of waking up on weekends then discovers that when you own two domiciles you have at least twice the renovation work to perform. This is especially obvious in spring when one opens up a cabin that has sat empty during winter months when the temperature has gone down as far or farther than -35 degrees(F or C don't matter much at that point)
