March wants Stundie nominations

Mmmm. We were certainly not supposed to let on about the Pregsure vaccine having been identified as the cause of BSE when the epidemiologists originally figured it out. I think there was some worry that Pfizer might sue for defamation or something.

But Pfizer withdrew the vaccine voluntarily, and "a strong association with" gradually morphed into "everybody knows it was that vaccine". Too many people knew. It was only a question of when we would be allowed to say so. The lid was only going to stay on it for a few months, tops.

(I do remember one afternoon, a farmer brought in a dead calf, and started speculating about the Bluetongue vaccine as a possible cause. The Bluetongue vaccine had been compulsory the previous year so there was a bit of vague suspicion. But we knew we'd seen cases of BSE before the Bluetongue vaccine had been used, so I told him that. I remember saying, "I'm quite confident it's not the Bluetongue vaccine that's causing this," with my fingers crossed behind my back and a distinct emphasis on the word "Bluetongue". I didn't tell him we already knew it was the BVD vaccine he'd been using for several years!)

But that line had a very definite shelf life. You don't have several rival teams of researchers in different countries all coming to the same conclusion independently and desperate to publish, and keep it quiet for long. I don't see why it would be any different in human medicine.

Oops, too many acronyms, with someone else mentioning BSE. :o

BNP, of course. Silly me. Yes, everybody now knows it is caused by the Pregsure vaccine. Couldn't cover that up, not a chance. I don't see how anyone could cover up a similar incident if it occurred in man.

This problem didn't get as far as human vaccines, because they used the new adjuvant in a cattle vaccine first. Too bad about the calves, but at least it wasn't babies.

I've asked the mods to edit the error - wouldn't want anyone to be misled into thinking BSE was caused by a vaccine!

From the FMOTL thread now in AAH. My bolding.

Quite the contrary ... I'd hate to claim "intellectual superiority" but this is a mute point as it appears that certain people here already claimed a complete monopoly on that a long time ago. If that is my tone it's simply a direct result of mirroring the attitude of others

This won't really qualify as I only have the Snopes link and not the page they're quoting from.

The claim is made that this is the first time 5 nuclear carriers have been docked at the same location.
Knowledgeable Sources stated that this breached a long standing military protocol in the Navy meant to avoid a massive enemy strike on major US forces. Obama is Commander in chief. This ordering of most of the Navy's capitol ships into one place is unprecedented since Pearl Harbor! This could be the creation of a false flag atomic incident too stupid for any enemy to pass up.
It seems the poster doesn't know what "false flag" means. If the enemy really attacks you, that's not a false flag.

Nor evidently the difference between a capitol ship and a capital ship. One is a big ship, the other is a ship parked at a nation's or state's capitol, for what purpose I will not attempt to imagine.

A comment on Who Forted? March 5, 2013 at 10:20 pm

We often forget that skepticism is not a nomenclature that automatically equals Randians or even reasonable people who work from evidence. The 9-11 Truth movement is skeptical. The Flat Earth Society is a skeptical organization. These people are fine examples of skepticism in action: they disbelieve official narratives because they hold that the evidence offered is unreliable, fabricated, or otherwise in error. It does not fit with their expectations.

The "official narrative" controls ships sailing over the horizon? The "official narrative" controls the Earth's shadow falling on the Moon? Yes!

Maybe we need to introduce the term "Sucker Flag Attack".

"Come on, all my nuclear carriers are just sitting there, you could just attack them...."

This has the benefit of being an attack that only the US could invite on itself.
The CTers have got to love that!

I keep saying you should never brag on how smart you are in a post. But, alas, it is a mute point. :p

More lies to try and make Obama look like he wants to lose wars in the Middle East. I'd hoped we were past all that.

I hope I'm not the only one to find this amusing even if it was intentional.

Not so fast on 49ers' and #Jets CB Darrelle Revis. High-ranking team source says 49ers' interest is ".001 on a scale of 1-10."

Literally every single post in this thread contains a stundie. It's about how the sloths at clues forum know the ISS is fake.

There is the guy that claims there should be no lights seen from space emanating from western Australia because there are no cities in western Australia. He helpfully posts a map that clearly shows around a dozen cities in western Australia. Right below that bit of genius is this,

What's NASA's purpose for training astronots in swimming pools? It certainly doesn't equate to zero gravity or 1/6th earth gravity in the case of the moon. Not to mention, they are surrounded by water. The pressure, resistance, friction, motion in water would be nothing like that of space, where you know ... there's no water. So what are these astronots to do when all of their many hours of water training has now suddenly rendered them completely useless in space? They should be used to performing all of their tasks, using their tools, navigating, etc. in a very specific underwater environment. One would expect these same tasks to incur many errors, blunders, etc. due to the fact that they essentially have had zero hours of space condition training and no matter how many hundreds of hours of underwater training, all of it would be mostly useless.

So what's the point of training in water? The conditions wouldn't be anything like that of outer space. (Rhetorical question, of course)

I suppose they should train in space before they go to space? What's the point of flight simulators? Just throw the pilot into the plane!

I've been following that thread with amusement for a while now, and I'm loving the incredulous response about the apparent presence of civilisation in the Western Australian desert, and also the lack of stars in the long exposure.

Their Google-fu is so weak that they haven't figured out that it is a composite infra-red image, so it is picking up heat signals, not light.

There could be a false flag attack if Russia attacked us and made it look like China. Or my understanding of false flag could be wrong. ;)

While I was stationed in Norfolk there were four carriers and two battleships in port at the same time, plus about 50 (maybe more) other ships. It's not like this was an unprecedented event.

I love the bit about the aerial photography. If planes can be used to take pictures of the ground below them then planes can be the source for GPS navigation.

whew!
I mentioned BSE in a tongue in cheek post then you come along with post 41 and I did not know if the book about BSE and other prion diseaes "Fatal Flaws", was all wrong or if you were having a bit of fun with conspiracy, though I very much assumed the later.

(snip) I couldn't understand why this guy was at such pains to refute the suggestion that a rock formation on Mars was an actual sculpture deliberately carved to represent a human face. I mean, why would anyone imagine that, any more than that the Crocodile Rock was a sculpture of a crocodile?
(snip).
You know, I really thought the Crocodile Rock would last.

Well they ought to train them in the zero g simulators they used to fake the moon landings. :duck:
